Happy Sunday, Friends! In today’s blog, I’d like to share with you a Valentine’s Day inspirational gift set made with a “Sweet Colorful” look using the following dies sets; Lattice Heart Die, Scalloped Heart Dies, Heart Pouch Die, Tag’d Dies, Gable Card Box Die, Love You Always Dies, 1/8 Quick Strips Die, and 1/2 Quick Strips Die by The Stamp Market. Also with all these fun die sets, I used the Ink Spray Bundle to ink spray the colorful backgrounds and lastly, Foiled Phrases Gold to add the gold foiled sentiments to each element from this gift box set. So, without further ado, let’s jump right into the step-by-step for how I made them ↓
Therefore, I started by getting the ink spray process done over large pieces of mixed-media paper using; the pink, orange, and yellow spray hues from the Ink Spray Bundle. Then, I let the paper pieces dry, and once they were completely dry out, I used the dies included in 1/2 Quick Strips Die along with the Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine to die-cut some paper strips from the inked spray panels. Thus, to continue with the die-cutting process, I went ahead to use one of the dies from the Scalloped Heart Dies set to cut out a solid white heart from white cardstock, and then I used the Lattice Heart Die to die-cut the decorative heart from white cardstock as well.
Moving on, after getting the die-cutting process complete for the paper strips and hearts, I went ahead to get the card assembling done, so to do that, I went ahead to use the Paper Trimmer to trim off 1/8 of an inch from each side of an A2 size white card panel, and then I proceeded to glue down some of the paper strips as shown in the image above; paper strips that I’ve got cut out from the ink sprayed panels. Thereafter, to add an extra touch of shine to them, I went ahead to glue down over them some of the gold strips that I had cut out from gold cardstock using the die included in 1/8 Quick Strips Die. Thus, after getting the metallic gold accent added to the strips, I went ahead to cut out the excess paper from the edges of the card panel, and then I got its backing adhered with double-sided adhesive to an A2 side folding white card base in a landscaping form.
Lastly, after getting the card panel adhered to its card base, I went ahead to layer the solid heart underneath the detailed heart, and then I got them mounted with craft foam adhesive to add dimension to the right center part of the card. Finally, to finish the card off, I went ahead to use the die included in the Lattice Heart Die to die-cut the sentiment from gold cardstock, and since this die has the same font as one of the stamp sentiments included in the Love You Always Stamp, and the stamp has its coordinating die included in Love You Always Dies, I took advantage by using its coordinating die to create a dimensional white shadow layer for the card sentiment as well.
As soon as, I got the card finished, I’ve gone ahead to set it aside to start creating the rest of the elements for the gift set, so to do that, first I went ahead to create the decorative dies, and to do that, I used pieces of the inked spray panel the heart dies included in Scalloped Heart Dies. This step was quite simple, as all I did was to die-cut the top layer out of the inked spray panels and their shadow with a decorative layer from white cardstock. Then, I got them adhered together and got them embellished by adding shine with some of the pre-made foil gold sentiment that I took out of the Foiled Phrases Gold pack.
Same as I did with the heart in the first example, I went ahead to create a decorative heart but this time instead of getting the white-on-white look, I added a pop of color underneath by cutting the solid layer out of one of the inked spray panels. That being said, for this example I created a decorative tag, and to do the tag, I used white cardstock and the dies included in Tag’d Dies. So, after having the tag ready, I went ahead to get it embellished by getting the decorative heart mounted over it, and to finish it off, I added dimension to one of the pre-made foiled sentiments and got it mounted over the heart. Last but not least, as a finishing touch, I added also a piece of Gold Satin Ribbon to the tag.
Every gift set needs a gift box, so for the last example, I went ahead to create a box using white cardstock and the dies included in Gable Card Box Die. However, before sharing how to die-cut the box, I’d like to mention that this is a bigger size die and won’t work with your standard-size die-cut machine. Therefore, for the large die-cutting parts of the box, I used the Sizzix - Big Shot Switch Plus Machine. That being said, after getting the die-cutting process completed for the large pieces of the box, I went ahead to get the die-cutting process too for the smaller pieces, and then I got the gift box assembled. This step is quite self-explanatory, as you can easily figure it out once you got the die-cutting pieces in front of you.
So, after getting the box assembled, I went ahead to add some gold strips to the upper and lower sides of the front and back of it. As for the gold strips, I used the same die that I used in the first example, to cut them out from gold cardstock. As for the heart, I used the dies included in the Heart Pouch Die however, I did a little fussy cutting to cut out the edge of the heart frame. This die is a special die that creates a little pouch heart but it can also be used to create a heart frame just like I did for this example. That said, I went ahead to create the heart frame from white cardstock and the inner heart from one of the inked spray panels.
Consequently, after creating the dimensional heart, I went ahead to get it glued down to the front part of the box, and then I added square foam adhesives to the back of the pre-made foiled sentiment to get it mounted over the heat in a way that you can see in the image above. Finally, to finish the box, I decided to add an extra touch of shine by creating a gift bow out of a large piece of Gold Satin Ribbon.
And, with that being said, friends, I hope you’ve enjoyed reading the step-by-step for how I’ve made this Valentine’s Day inspirational gift set with a “Sweet Colorful” look using dies, and more by The Stamp Market.
