Happy Wednesday, crafty friends! On today’s blog I’d like to share with you a beautiful set of “Friendship-Floral” cards made with Simple Blooms Stamp Set and Flourishing Bouquet Stamp Set by The Gray Muse. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step by step on how I’ve made it ↓
To begin with, I started by placing inside my MISTI Stamping Tool a Strathmore Watercolor Panel. Then, right after that I lined up each floral image from the Simple Blooms Stamp Set over the watercolor card panel and once I’ve had them lined up, I went ahead to get them stamped twice over the card panel with No Line Ink for a no-line water-coloring look.
Therefore, after I had each image stamped over the card panel, I removed the card panel from the stamping tool and I transferred it to my Make Art Mini Stay-Tion All-in-One Magnetic Surface. Once the card panel was onto place, I secured it with the magnets included in the magnetic surface and then, I’ve proceeded to get the water-coloring- done. For the water-coloring, as usual, I mixed a palette of Pink, Purple, Burgundy, Yellow and Green hues using a combination of my Pinkfresh Watercolor Collection along with Winsor & Newton Designers Gouache, W&N Neutral Tint and White Nights Watercolor Palette.
Thus, once I’ve had the water-coloring done, I set it aside to let the painting dry. Meanwhile, I went ahead to lined up over a white card panel the die from Oval Foliage Wreath Die Set and once I had it lined up, I went ahead to run them through my Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine.
Moving along, after I’ve had the die-cutting done, I went ahead to place the card panel inside the stamping tool, and then right after that I went ahead to line up the oval image from the Oval Foliage Wreath Stamp Set. Once, the oval image was into place I went ahead to add Embossing Powder Tool and soon after, I went ahead to get the oval stamped with WOW! Embossing Pad. Next, after I’ve had finished the stamping, I removed the card panel out of the stamping tool and I covered it with WOW! Metallic Gold Rich then, to finish the heat embossing I went ahead to heat set the powder using my WOW! Heat Embossing Gun Tool.
Lastly, after I’ve had finished the heat embossing I went ahead to trim the edges down from the card panel slightly smaller than the card base and once I had that step done, I went ahead to adhere the backing of it with double-sided tape to an A2 Kraft card base. Once, the card panel was adhered, I went ahead to fussy cut each flower and leaf and once I had that step done, I created a floral cluster which right afterwards I glued with liquid glue and foam mounting tape to create a bit of dimension. Finally, to finish the card off, I popped out some of the partial die-cut leaves and I mounted with craft foam tape a sentiment which I’ve had previously gold heat embossed on a strip of white cardstock. Then, as finishing touches I glued down with liquid glue a combination of sequins for a sparkly touch.
For the second example, I went ahead to place a watercolor card panel inside my MISTI so therefore, once the card panel was onto place, I lined up the bouquet stamp image from Flourishing Bouquet Stamp Set. Thus, after I’ve had it lined up, I went ahead to get the image stamped using no-line ink.
Once, I’ve had the stamping done, I removed the card panel out of the stamping tool, and I repeated the same steps as I previously did for the water-coloring part. Although, I used the same color palette to get the floral and leaves water-colored for this example, I introduced a Brown hue to get the impression as if the bouquet were wrapping with Kraft paper.
Moving on, after I’ve had finished the water-coloring for the bouquet, I waited a few minutes to let it dry out, and once it was completely dry, I proceeded to get the card panel water-colored to make the bouquet pop.
For the background water-coloring, I used a Purple-Brown and a very soft Peach hue so therefore, I went ahead to watercolor the card panel (as shown in the image above) and once I had it water-colored, I let it air dry and once the card panel was completely dry, I went ahead to gold heat emboss a gold line a little lower than the middle point so, to do that, I used a ruler and my WOW! Embossing Pen.
Lastly, after I’ve had finish the water-coloring, I went ahead to trim the edges of the card panel to H 5.0’’ X W 3-3/4’’ inches, and once I had it trimmed down I went ahead to mounted it with craft foam and double-sided tape to an A2 top folding white card base. Then, as a final touch I went ahead to get a sentiment gold heat embossed in the lower left side of the card panel, and last but least, I went ahead to glued down with liquid glue a combination of sequins and jewels for an extra sparkly look.
