Spellbinders Stitchmas Christmas Collection┃Inspiration Cards

Happy Saturday, Friends! On today’s blog, I’d like to share with you an extra delicate and holiday season’s set of inspiration cards with a “Hand-Stitched” look showcasing the latest; Stitchmas Christmas Collection by Spellbinders which includes: Stitched Ornament Etched Dies, Stitched Joy Etched Dies, Stitched Diamond Argyle Etched Dies, and Stitched Petal Diamond Background Etched Dies. Besides that, I used Glitter Wishes Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set and Mix & Match Holiday Greetings Etched Dies sets from the Celebrate the Season to add the dimensional die-cutting sentiments for some of the cards. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step-by-step on how I made them ↓

Therefore, for the first example, I went ahead to line up over an A2 size white card panel the insert die included in Stitched Diamond Argyle Etched Dies and then, I proceeded to add the detailed stitching over it by getting them through my Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine. Thus, as soon as, I had gotten added the stitching detail to it, I continued to get the backing of it gluing down to an A2 size top folding white card base for a white-on-white look.

Once, I got the card base completed, I went ahead to put it aside to continuing with the die-cutting process for the delicate ornament. As, for the ornament, I used Stitched Ornament Etched Dies along with pieces of white and mirrored gold cardstock to cut out the ornament pieces. Having that said, for the hand-stitching steps, I used embroidery floss in Pink and Peach hues along with DMC #20 Tapestry Hand Needles. As, you can see, I did the hand-stitching steps by following the dotted guide to add the embroidery pattern to the ornament. Also, I added a metallic touch by adding DMC Diamant Metallic Gold Thread as well.

Once, I had finished adding the metallic accent to the hand-stitching, I went ahead to add the die-cutting gold pieces as well to it. Next, I added the hot foil stamped sentiment in the center of the ornament and then, I went ahead to get the ornament mounted with craft foam adhesive to the center of the card base. To finish the card off, I went ahead to add the greenery and a tiny bow that I created out of a piece of the same metallic thread that, I used to do the hand-stitching for the ornament. As, for the greenery, I used the dies included in the set along with a large piece of Rainforest Cardstock and lastly, for the sentiment, I used one of the glimmer plates included in Glitter Wishes Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set.

For the second example, I went ahead to line up over an A2 size white card panel the insert die included in Stitched Petal Diamond Background Etched Dies and the, I proceeded to run them through my die cut machine. Once, I had that step done, I went ahead to repeat the same steps over another white card panel and then, I got them stack up to add a sturdy effect for the amount of stitching that I was about to add to it.

As for the hand-stitching touch, I used once again the Pink and Peach hues that I used in the previous example along with DMC #20 Tapestry Hand Needles. Thus, I followed the dotted guide to add the embroidery pattern to the whole card panel just, as you see it in the image above. By the way, I used all 6 strings from each embroidery floss to add a fuller look. Then, after I had finished adding the embroidery look to it; I went ahead to get the backing of the card panel adhered to another A2 size card panel but this time, I used mirrored gold cardstock to add a metallic accents underneath the dotted detail that has no stitches.

Lastly, I went ahead to get the backing of the dimensional panel gluing down over an A2 size top folding white card base and then, I added its sentiment; a die-cutting sentiment which, I had gotten previously cut out from white and gold cardstock to make it dimensional using 2 dies from Mix & Match Holiday Greetings Etched Dies. Last but not least, to finish the card off, I used my Jewels Picker to glue down with Bearly Art Precision Craft Glue here and there some of the Sunlight Gold jewels adding that way an extra touch of shine to the card.

Although, the second and third example have a very similar look, I tried my best to tweak things a bit to keep a cohesive look not adding different hues.

Therefore, to keep it simple after adding the embroidery look to the card panel, I went ahead to add the metallic gold accent underneath just like I did for the previous example.

Lastly, to finish the card off, I went ahead to get the backing of it adhered to an A2 size top folding white card base and then, I added its sentiment. A sentiment, that I created previously using some of the dies included in the same set that I used in the previous example. Then, to add even more shine, I also went ahead to add some jewels to it.

For the last example, I used Stitched Petal Diamond Background Etched Dies once again to add the stitching detail to a white card panel. Then, after adding the detailed touch to the card panel, I went ahead to get its backing gluing down over an A2 size top folding white card base for a white-on-white look.

Thus, after I had finished gluing down the detailed background to the card base, I went ahead to put it aside to continuing with the die-cutting process for the focal point using Stitched Joy Etched Dies. As for the die-cutting process, I kept it simple by cutting the base from white cardstock and the JOY letters from gold cardstock.

So, to do the hand-stitching, I went ahead to add the regular stitching following the dotted guide created from the die and then, I decided to add some roses with a spiral look. I’m not so sure how this stitching technique it’s call but after watching Yana’s tutorial, it kind of opened my mind not only to try this technique out but to learn more about how-to add different hand stitches to my cards. That being said, after adding the spiral roses, I went ahead to get the backing of the embroidery base gluing down over the card base and then, I added its letters to finish off the JOY look. By the way, I kept it simple by not adding jewels, but I did add 2 different Green hues for the greenery.
