Spellbinders MAY-2021 KOM┃Inspiration Cards

Happy Sunday, Friends! On today’s blog, I’ll be sharing with you a set of 4 inspiration cards plus, a matching bookmark/mini slimline background card with a “Summer Vibe” made using Die Cut Shapes, Chipboard Stickers, Gems, Stamp Set, Die Set and the Patterned Paper Pad including in MAY-2021 “Beach Day” Card Kit of the Month by Spellbinders. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step by step for how I’ve made them ↓

As per usual with every Spellbinders’ Card Kit of the Month, I’ve started off by selecting the die cut shapes and patterned paper sheets that I was going to use to create each card so therefore, I went ahead to trim off the edges from this beautiful patterned paper sheet using my Tim Holtz - 8.5 Inch Comfort Paper Trimmer to H 5-1/4’’ x W 4.0’’ inches and then, I went ahead to get the backing of it adhered with the double-sided tape included in the kit to one of textured white card bases also, including in the card kit.

Thus, as soon as I’ve had finished getting adhere the patterned paper to the card base, I went ahead to trim off a smaller white card panel and then, I went ahead to get it mounted with craft foam adhesive to add a bit of dimension.

Once, I’ve had finished mounting the white card panel, I’ve gone ahead to get the card embellished it (as shown in the image above) using some of the die cut shapes, chipboard stickers and gems. Nevertheless, to finish the card off I’ve gone ahead to mount 2 chipboard stickers to use them as the card sentiment, and then I also added a piece of DMC Metallic Gold Thread to add an extra gold accent.

For the second example, I went ahead to trim off the edges of the second patterned paper to H 5.0’’ x W-3-/4’’ inches and then, I’ve gotten adhered the backing of it with double-sided tape to one of the textured white card base.

Therefore, once I’ve had finished adhering the patterned paper to the card base, I’ve gone ahead to get it embellished (as shown in the image above) using some of the die cut shapes and chipboard stickers adding a bit of dimension between them, along with some gems to add a touch of shine.

For the third example, I went ahead to create a card with a tropical vibe using the tropical floral die cut shapes including in the kit. Therefore, I started off by trimming off the edges of the patterned paper sheet in the same way as I did in the previous example and then, I went ahead to get the backing of it adhered to one of the white textured card base with double-sided tape.

Thus, after having the patterned background adhered over the card base, I went ahead to create a floral cluster which I’ve right afterwards gotten mounted on the left side of the card. Lastly, I mounted one of the chipboard stickers to use it as the card sentiment and to finish the card off, I adhered down some of the gems along with a tied bow which I created out of piece of metallic DMC to add an extra touch of shine!

For the fourth example, I went ahead to create a bookmark which can be perfectly use as a slimline card panel. Therefore, to create this example, I went ahead to adhere together with double-sided tape 2 of the leftover pieces that I had left from the previous examples.

Thus, right after that I finished adhering them down, I went ahead to set it off aside so, I could start the die-cutting process using the die set including in the kit. Therefore, for the die-cutting process, I went ahead to use each die including in the set along with a combination of Alabaster Cardstock, Barely Peach Cardstock, Pink Sand Cardstock, Rainforest Cardstock, Fern Cardstock plus, some of the TSM Color Cardstock and Gold cardstock. So, once I had the cardstock color combination selected, I went ahead to line up each die over them and then, I ran each of them through my Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine.

Moving on, after having all die-cutting pieces done, I went ahead to start the assembling off by gluing them down using Bearly Art Mini 2 fl oz Precision Craft Glue + Tip Kit and then, as soon as I had that done, I went ahead to get each of them mounted over the bookmark to create the dimensional focal point for it. Lastly, after having the focal point mounted over it, I went ahead to place the bookmark inside my stamping tool to get 2 of the sentiments from the stamp set including in the kit stamped and gold heat embossing (as shown in the image above.) Nevertheless, after having the stamping and heat embossing process done, I’ve gone ahead to finish the card off, by gluing down a pre-made tied bow which I’ve had previously created out of see-through ribbon in gold color and then, as a finishing touch, I’ve also gotten adhere some of the gems to add an extra touch of sparkle to it.

Last but not least for the fifth example, I went ahead to create an under the sea looking card using all sea die cut shapes including in the kit. Therefore, to do that first I started off by trimming the edges off from one of the patterned paper sheets to H 5.0’’ x W 3-3/4’’ inches and then, I’ve gotten the backing of it adhered to one of the white texture card bases.

Next, after having the patterned background adhered to the card base, I went ahead to create a sea frame around the card panel by gluing down some of the die cut shapes with liquid glue and by mounting some of them with square foam adhesives to add a bit of dimension. And, as soon as I had finished creating the frame, I went ahead to mount one of the die cut shapes in the center of the card to use it as the card sentiment.

Lastly, to finish the card off, I also adhered down here and there some of the gems to add a touch of shine!
