Spellbinders Inspired Basics Collection┃Inspiration Cards

Happy Thursday, Friends! On today’s blog, I’d like to share with you a beautiful set of “Tag & Matching” inspiration card showcasing the latest Inspired Basics Collection by Spellbinders which includes: Create a Decorative Tag Etched Dies, Something Special Glimmer Hot Foil Plate, Flowers for You Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set, Create a Flutter & Flower Bow Etched Dies, and Create a Slimline Border Etched Dies. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step-by-step on how I made them ↓

Therefore, for the first example, I started off by lining up over a large piece of white cardstock the tag die included in Create a Decorative Tag Etched Dies along with the three decorative insert dies also, included in the set. Next, after getting them line up, I went ahead to run them through my Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine. And, once I’ve had finished getting the die-cutting tag and added the decorative die-cutting accents, I’ve gone ahead to cut out a second tag but this time to cut out just a solid and plain white tag out of the same white cardstock. A tag which, I went ahead to ink up using some ink blending brushes along with a combination of Abandoned Coral, Saltwater Taffy, and Kitsh Flamingo to create a gradient effect.

Having that said, as soon as, I’ve had finished adding the inked touch to the solid tag, I proceeded to layer over it the other tag with the die-cutting details. Moving on, to get the tag embellished, I went ahead to add a piece of Metallic Gold ribbon and then, I added a piece of DMC Diamant Metallic Gold Thread along with two little tassels. Tassels which, I’ve had previously created out Pink cardstock using one of the dies included in the same set. As for the hot foil stamped floral detail and sentiment, I used Flowers for You Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set and one of the card sentiments from Mini Sincere Sentiments Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set. As for the glimmer hot foil stamping, I used a piece of Glimmer Hot Foil Roll - Matte Gold and of course, the Glimmer Hot Foil System Platform for the foil stamping process.

For the second tag, I went ahead to use the same tag die but this time, I only used one of the insert dies to add the lower die-cutting detail to it. So, I’ve gone ahead to add a piece of pink color cardstock under the die-cutting detailed tag and then, I’ve got layered over to a solid die-cutting tag in the same way as, I did for the first example.

Having that being said, I went ahead to get the tag embellished using a die-cutting bow created out of Pink and Gold Foil cardstocks using the dies included in Create a Flutter & Flower Bow Etched Dies. Then, a piece of narrow white ribbon and the tag sentiment which, I had gotten previously hot foil stamped using one of the glimmer plates included in Something Special Glimmer Hot Foil Plate and the same foil color.

For the third example, I created a tag with a similar look as the previous example. However, instead of using pink, I used peach hues and another of the insert dies to add a different look to the lower die-cutting detail.

Also, to change things a little bit, I used the botanical die to add the floral effect to the die-cutting bow. Besides, I used the larger glimmer plate included in Something Special Glimmer Hot Foil Plate to add a bigger sentiment to it.

For the last tag example, I used once again the tag die included in the set to cut out a solid tag out of white cardstock and another one on which, I added the die-cutting details just like I did for the previous example to create the layered effect.

Thus, as you can see in the image above, instead of adding the die-cutting detail over the lower part of the tag, I went ahead to added it to the upper part of it. Also, I added the butterfly die-cutting touch to the die-cutting bow using the other die included in the same set.

Then, to add an extra decorative touch to this tag, I used the die that included in the tag set that adds up the die-cutting fringe effect. So, to create the effect, I went ahead to cut out the fringe piece three times out of white cardstock and another three times from gold foil cardstock to create the layered effect. Then, I added pops of colors to the white die-cutting pieces using the same hues that I used in the first example. Lastly, after adding the pops of colors, I had gotten them layered over and then, I went ahead to get them glue down to the lower part of the tag. And, to finish this tag off, I went ahead to use another of the hot foil sentiments created using one of the glimmer plate sentiment from Mini Sincere Sentiments Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set. By the way, I’d like to mention that I used this same fringe die to create the tassels in the first example.

This collection includes Create a Slimline Border Etched Dies to add extra details to any card size as it can be used also, to make A2, A5 and why not mini slimline size cards.

Therefore, to create the detailed die-cutting to the front card panel for this slimline size card using one of the dies from the set with a similar look to one I used to create one of the tags from this set. Also, I used two of the other dies included in the set to add the die-cutting details to the top and bottom front card panel edges.

Lastly, for the card assembling, I went ahead to get the backing of the solid part of the card panel adhered with craft foam adhesive to a peach-colored cardstock panel to add dimension leaving the bottom part free of adhesive for a lacey effect. Next, I went ahead to get the backing of the layered card panel adhered with double-sided adhesive to a white slimline size card base and then, I proceeded to get the card embellished with two of the hot foil stamped and die-cutting foliage pieces. Once again for the hot foil stamped elements, I used Flowers for You Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set and Mini Sincere Sentiments Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set.

Last but certainly not least, to finish this set of tags and matching card off, I went ahead to use my Jewels Picker along with Bearly Art Precision Craft Glue to glue down here and there some of the Rhinestones Sunlight Gold to add a touch of sparkle to each tag and the card.
