Spellbinders DOM SEP-2022┃Inspiration Card

Happy Sunday, Friends! On today’s blog, I’d like to share with you a very delicate and dimensional inspiration card with a “Hand Stitching” look made showcasing the latest: SEP-2022 "Stitched Fall Leaves" Small Die of the Month Club by Spellbinders. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step-by-step on how I made it ↓

Therefore, this month’s Small Die of the Month Club includes a combination of different Fall leaves dies that cut out the outlined solid layers along with the top layers for them; as for the dies that cut out the top layers they also add up the stitching details for them as, you can see in the image above.

Thus, for this example, instead of cutting the leaves out from colored cardstock, I decided to do some water-coloring to cut them out for a more realistic look. So, to do that, I went ahead to use one sheet from Canson Rough Heritage, White Watercolor Paper pad and then, I used water along with my St. Petersburg Watercolor Ultimate Set plus, the large watercolor brush included in Silver Brush - Limited Black Velvet Master Travel Set.

That being said, for the water-coloring step, I went ahead to fully get the watercolor done over the paper sheet using the Yellow, Orange, Brown, Red and Green hues included in the set. Then, after getting the water-coloring step completed, I placed if off aside to let it air dry. Meanwhile, I went ahead to cut out the card sentiment from White and Gold cardstock using the dies included in the kit along with Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine. Also, I did the die-cutting process for the solid layers for the leaves from the same Gold cardstock. Once, I had that done, I stacked over the card sentiment layers to make it dimensional and then, I put it off aside along with the solid die-cutting pieces to cut out the detailed layer for the leaves.

Once, the water-colored sheet was completely dry, I went ahead to cut out the detailed layers for the leaves from it and, since the dies add up the stitching details to them, I also went ahead to add the hand-stitching details to each of them. As, for the hand stitching, I used one of the DMC #20 Tapestry Hand Needles along with the darkest embroidery Gold thread included in the Metallic Embroidery Threads set. There’s not much explanation about the hand-stitching as all I did was to follow the stitching pattern create from the dies just, as all Spellbinders dies. That said, after getting the hand-stitching completed for each leaf, I went ahead to get each of them gluing down to their solid layer and then, I trim off 1/4 of inch from a white card panel and then, I got the backing of it adhered with double -sided adhesive to an A2 top folding White card base.

Lastly, I went ahead to glue down each leaf (as shown in the image above) to the lower left corner of the card and then, I also got gluing down the dimensional card sentiment the upper right corner. The, as soon as, I had the leaves and the card sentiment added to the card, I proceeded to finish the card off by using my Jewels Picker along with Bearly Art Precision Craft Glue to glue down here and there some of the Gold Mix Color Essentials Gems adding that way an extra touch of shine to the card. And, with that being said friends, I hope you’ve enjoyed reading the step-by-step for how I’ve made this delicate and dimensional inspiration card with a “Hand Stitching” look showcasing the latest: SEP-2022 "Stitched Fall Leaves" Small Die of the Month Club by Spellbinders.
