Spellbinders KOM SEP-2022┃Inspiration Cards

Happy Saturday, Friends! On today’s blog, I’d like to share with you a set of inspiration cards with a “Sew & Embroidery” look using: "Sew Happy" Cardmaking Club of the Month by Spellbinders. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step by step on how I made them ↓

Therefore, for the first example first, I used the die set included in the kit along with my Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine to die cut the elements for the embroidery hoop, the die-cutting flowers, needle and embroidery floss. Thus, for the die-cutting process, I used the cardstock sheets included in the cardmaking club kit and once, I had finished doing that, I had gone ahead to get the assembling done for the embroidery hoop and its elements.

Next, after getting the assembling for the embroidery hoop completed, I proceeded to put it off aside to get trim off with my Paper Trimmer, one of the patterned paper sheets from the paper pad included in the kit to add the front card panel background to one of the textured card bases; card base which, is also included in the kit. That being said, soon after that I had gotten trim down the patterned paper sheet, I proceeded to get its backing adhered to the card base using the double-sided adhesive included in the kit.

Lastly, to add an extra layer to the card, I went ahead to trim down a smaller white card panel from one of the card bases and then, I got it adhered with some of square foam adhesives to the front card panel. Then, I got gluing down the decorative embroidery hoop and to finish the card off, I went ahead to get one of the stamp images from the stamp set included in the kit to add the sentiment to this card. A card sentiment which, I got stamped on a strip of white cardstock with a Navy hue and got mounted to the lower left side of the card.

For the second example, I made a shaker card, so to do that, I used some of the die cut shapes along with some of the chipboard stickers and one of the chipboard embroidery hoops to create the decorative focal point. Then, I used two of the dies included in Nestabilities Essential Rectangles Etched Dies to create the open window on the frame for the shaker part for this card. As for the shaker step, I went ahead to use a piece of one of the sheets from Glimmer Specialty Clear Film and then, I got it adhered to the backing of the frame using the double-sided adhesive included in the kit.

Having that said, as soon as, I had finished getting the clear film adhered to the shaker frame, I went ahead to select some of the die cut shapes with button shapes to add them as my shaker elements so, once I had that done, I proceeded to use one of the patterned paper sheets from the paper pad to use it as the decorative card background and then, I got the shaker frame mounted over the card base. By the way for this step, I used Double Sided Adhesive Foam to raise dimension to my shaker frame. Thus, once I had it mounted over the card base, I got the card finishing off by mounting the decorative embroidery hoop that I created with all elements selected from the chipboard stickers and die cut shapes.

Lastly, for the card example, I went ahead to trim down one of the patterned paper sheets from the paper pad to create the card background for the card and then, once I had that done, I proceeded to get the backing of it adhered to one of the textured card bases.

Then, to finish off this last example, I used a few of the die cut shapes to create a very dimensional sewing and embroidery focal point for the card and the card sentiment, as well.

And, with that being said friends, I hope you’ve enjoyed reading the step-by-step for how I’ve made this set of inspiration cards with a “Sew & Embroidery” look using: "Sew Happy" Cardmaking Club of the Month by Spellbinders.
