Spellbinders DOM-JUN20┃Handing You a Smile Inspiration Cards

Happy Monday, Friends! It’s the first day of the month, and on today’s blog I’d like to share with you these 2 “Floral & Delicate” cards that, I’ve created with the new JUN-2020 “Handing You a Smile” Small Die of the Month by Spellbinders. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step by step on how I made them ↓

So, to begin with I started by running through the Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine the hand shadow layer die to die-cut it out 2X from Gold Cardstock. Then, I ran through the die-cutting machine the hand top layer dies to die-cut out the hand 2X from Warm Glow color cardstock. Once, I had the die-cutting pieces done, I stacked the top layer to the shadow layer from the hands down and I set them aside.

Right after, I ran through the die-cutting machine the Large, Medium, Small flower dies along with the Center die to die-cut them out from the following color cardstock combination; Bubble Gum, Watermelon Fusion, Sweet Berry, Peaches and Cream, Banana Cream Pineapple Smoothie, Summer Days all by Spellbinders-FSJ and Peach, Bubble-Gum, Blush Pink by TSM.

Therefore, after I had the flower die-cutting pieces done I assembled each of the flowers and I set them aside. Meanwhile, I ran through the die-cutting machine the Stems and Leaves dies to die-cut them out from the following color cardstock combination, Mossy Green, Leafy Green and Citrine. Lastly, to finish the die-cutting process off, I lined up the 2 largest oval dies from the Nestabilities Essential Ovals Etched Dies, and I ran them through the die-cutting machine to die-cut the dotted oval frame out of White cardstock. As you can see, I added a touch of Gold to the frame so, to do that I ran through the die-cutting machine only the largest die to die-cut an oval out of Gold cardstock.

Finally, for the assembling I glued down with liquid glue the dotted white oval frame to the gold frame, and I adhered it down with double-sided tape to one of the A2 textured side folding white card bases included in each of the Spellbinders Cardkit of the Month. Then, to create dimension I mounted with foam mounting tape one of the die-cutting hands, and once the hand was mounted I tucked in 4 stems and I adhered down 4 flowers 2 with liquid glue and 2 with square adhesives to create a dimensional cluster. Moving on, to finish the card off I mounted a sentiment which I had previously gold heated emboss on a piece of white cardstock, and as a finishing touch I glued down sequins here and there to the card and jewels to the edge of the hand to create the illusion as if the hand had a sparkly bracelet.
NOTE: The sentiment is from the All Occasion Sentiments Stamp and Die Set.

For the second example, I kept it simple by creating in the same way a Dotted Frame however, instead of using the oval shape I ran through the die-cutting machine the 2 larger dies from the Nestabilities Essential Rectangles Etched Dies.

Therefore, before I adhered the dotted frame to the gold frame, I foiled a sentiment on the lower right side of the card keeping in mind the placement for the die-cutting hand and flowers. By the way the sentiment part of the Glimmer Foil Plates included in the JUN-2020 Glimmer Hot Foil Kit Of The Month Club.

So, after the sentiment was foiled over the card panel, I glued down the dotted white panel to the gold panel, and I adhered the frame down with double-sided tape to one of the textured A2 side folding white card bases. Lastly, I mounted the die-cutting hand with foam mounting tape to the card, and last but not least I tucked in the leaves, stems and flowers to create the cluster floral. Then, to finish the card off, I glued down with liquid glue sequins and jewels to the hand in the same way as I did on the previous example.
