Spellbinders August 2019 Pack It Up Small Die of the Month Greeting Cards

Hello friends! I’m happy to have you back as today I’d like to share with you how I’ve made this card and the little backpacks featuring the new August Small Die of the Month by Spellbinders called Pack It Up! So, without further ado please keep on reading the post. ↓

For the first and second examples, I made two little backpacks along with the school supply elements which you’ll see in the first example. So, to create the first backpack I started by stamping, and gold heat embossing the Quilted Hearts Background Stamp with Metallic Gold Rich Embossing Powder on a Whisper Card Stock card panel. Once the heat embossing was melted, I ran through the die-cutting machine the card panel along with the largest die from the Pack It Up die set. This die creates a score line so you can close or open the backpack the top of the backpack as you can see in the picture above. In the meantime, I ran through the die-cutting machine the little dies that come with the Pack It Up die set to die-cut out of gold card stock the following elements; Zipper, Sentiment, Apple, Glasses, parts of the Notebook and the little center part from the Crayola. Also, I die-cut the notebook and the Crayola out of white card stock. Right after when I was done with the die-cutting pieces, I decided to die-cut the Backpack front pocket, and the inside top part out of SSS Sea Glass Card Stock which I also gold heat embossed with the same Quilted Hearts Background Stamp. Lastly, I decided to die-cut once again out of SSS Sea Glass Card Stock the Zipper as I carefully fussy-cut the center part of the zipper that I had previously die-cut out of gold card stock because, I wanted a little contrast. Finally, I put all the pieces together by adhering each of them with liquid glue and the first little Backpack was done!

For the second little Backpack, I kept the same idea. However, I changed its design by stamping and gold heat embossing the Plank Background Stamp on the card panels before I made the die-cuttings. Also, as you can see, I swapped the colors other than that, I kept the little Backpack simple by not adding a sentiment yet adding a gold Apple and an extra Zipper slider.

Last but certainly not least, I created a card for the third example. So, to begin with I started by stamping and heat embossing a white card panel using the Plank Background Stamp, and Opaque Bright White Embossing Powder once the heat embossing was done, I trimmed the edges of the card panel a little smaller than a regular A2 size card and I set it aside. Next, I ran through the die-cutting machine two different colors of Sea Glass card stock, and mirrored gold card stock to die-cut all the school elements. To add a little texture to the top part, and front pocket of the Backpack, I decided to dry embossed them with Swiss Dots Embossing Folder, and instead of die-cut the Notebook and the Crayola out white card stock, I decided to die-cut them out of Whisper Card Stock. Once all the die-cuttings were done, I put together the Backpack, and instead of adhering the school elements inside of it, I adhered them next to it as you can see in the picture above. Lastly, to finish the card off, I adhered the sentiment on one of the top sides of the card panel, and I adhered the backing of the card panel to an A2 side folding Whisper card base.
By the way both sentiment shown in today’s examples are included in the Pack It Up die set. Aren’t they awesome!?
