Tecnique Tuesday August Release Greeting Cards

Technique Tuesday August Release Greeting Cards

Happy Saturday Friends! On today’s blog, I’d like to share with you the two color pencil cards that I made featuring the new Greenhouse Society set called Lotus Stamp Set & Lotus Crafting Die from the August release by Technique Tuesday.
With that being set, please keep on reading this blog post! ↓

To begin with, I started by creating my own pattern for the card panel. To achieve that, I positioned the Lotus flower cluster from the Lotus Stamp Set on an acrylic block and I carefully stamped the cluster with embossing ink until the card panel was mostly cover. Once the stamping part was done, I covered the stamping with Opaque Bright White Embossing Powder and I heat set the embossing powder with the heat tool until the powder was melted. Once the powder was melted, I colored the flowers and leaves with Prismacolor Colored Pencils in peach and light green tones as you can see in the picture above. Right after the coloring, I trimmed the edges of the card panel slightly smaller than a standard A2 size card. Lastly, I adhered the backing of the card panel to an A2 size top folding white card base. And to finish the card off, I stamped and clear embossed a sentiment from the Lotus Stamp Set with Versafine Onyx Black, and Clear Gloss Embossing Powder on a die-cut label that I had previously die-cut it out of white card stock using one of the Essential Stitched Labels Crafting Dies which right afterwards, I adhered on one of the lower sides of the card with 3M Foam Tape just to add a little bit of dimension.

For the second example, I kept the same idea by white heat embossing the card panel and coloring the cluster with the same colors that used in the previous example. However, as you can see in the picture above, I stamped the full cluster from the Lotus Stamp Set in one of the sides of the card panel, and I used the Lotus Crafting Die to die-cut it out of the card panel as I wanted to add a little dimension by running through the die-cutting machine the die and a piece fun foam so I could inlay it back into its place yet with a little dimension. So, to finish the card off, I trimmed once again the edges of the card panel, and I adhered the backing of it to an A2 size top folding white card base with double-sided tape. Next, I inlaid the cluster to the card, and I adhered with 3M Foam Tape to add dimension the sentiment that I had previously created by stamping and clear embossing it on one of the Oval & Rectangle Stitched Labels Crafting Dies that die-cut it out of white card stock in the die-cutting machine.

As a final touch, I decided to add some shimmer to each of the clusters by covering them with Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Pen, and to add even more sparkle, I adhered some of the Shimmering Iced Fusion Sequins for an extra sparkly look!
So, that’s all for today friends! I’m glad you made it to end of this post. I hope that these cards inspire you to give these designs and the Lotus Stamp Set & Lotus Crafting Die sets a try!
