Pinkfresh Studio January 2020 Release Blog Hop
Hi there and, welcome to the Fabulous Pinkfresh Studio January 2020 Release Blog Hop. Today, I’d like to share with you these 2 clean and simple cards that, I’ve created featuring the new; Intricate Mandala Die and Phrase Builder: You Die Set so, without further ado, please keep on reading below ↓
Even when both cards are very similar, I’d like to share with you how beautiful and elegant the new; Intricate Mandala Die looks as a shaped card.
So, to begin with, I started by creating the card base. To do that, I ran through the die-cut machine a standard A2 top folding white card base along with the border die from the Intricate Mandala Die placing the die slightly off from the top folding for a partially cut creating that way a hinge for the card base could open and close without a problem. Lastly, as for the card base itself, I used Pinkfresh Coral Reef and Ballet Slipper and Mint ink pads to inked up the front of the card base to add a pop of color.
Once the card base was done, I create 2 more die-cutting. However, this time I placed the inner die that creates the details inside the border die and, I ran both dies through the die-cuttings machine to die-cut them out of white cardstock.
Right after, when all die-cutting pieces were done, I adhered with liquid glue one of the intricate die-cuttings to the card base as well as the borders from both die-cuts to add dimension. As, for the sentiment, I ran through the die-cut machine the YOU die from the Phrase Builder: You Die Set to die-cut its shadow layer out of translucent vellum and, the top layer to die-cut 1X out of gold cardstock as well as 1X out fun foam. Finally, I stacked the YOU die-cutting pieces and I adhered it offset to the card as shown above. To finish the card off, I adhered all around the border some of the Jewel Mix in green for a touch of sparkle as well as a sentiment that I had previously gold heat embossed on a strip of white cardstock. By the way, the sentiment that I used for this card it’s from the new; Leafy Decor Stamp Set.
For the second example, I create a 4 1/4’’ x 4 1/4’’ square card so, for this, I started by creating the card base and the card panel. For the card panel, I used the largest die from the Stitched Square Die Set to die-cut it out of white cardstock. Once, the card panel was done, I adhered the backing of it with double-sided tape to the card base and I set the card base aside. In the meantime, I ran through the die-cut machine the outline die from the Intricate Mandala Die to die-cut it 1X out fun foam and 1X out white cardstock. Once both cuts were done, I inked up the white die-cutting with the same color combination that I used on the previous example. However, I added an extra pop of color by adding Emerald City Ink. At this point, I was done and ready to assemble the card but, I decided to add a touch of frost look. To do that, I ran once again the outline die through the die-cutting machine to die-cut it out of translucent velum.
Lastly, I ran through the die-cut machine 3 dies from the Phrase Builder: You Die Set and I die-cut them in the same way that I did on the previous example. Once the die-cutting pieces were done, I stacked them, and I started to assemble the card as followed. First, I adhered the backing of the inked die-cutting to the fun foam. Next, I adhered the second intricate die-cutting that I created earlier to the vellum and to finish the assembling off, I adhered the backing of the vellum to the inked layer. Phew! That’s a lot of layer you might be saying but, I promise you the more layers the prettier that your card will look. Lastly, I adhered the layered pieces to the card base and to finish the card off, I adhered the words as well as a few of the Jewel Mix for a touch of sparkle.
