Friendship Necklace Cards and Keychains
Happy Wednesday, Friends! Today. I’d like to share with you the cards and keychains that, I’ve created with the new; Large Die of the Month called “Friendship Necklace’’ by Spellbinders. Let me tell you, these cards and keychains were so much fun to make so, I’m sure that you’re going to love them! So, without further ado, please keep on reading below ↓
For the first card, I started by creating the background so, to do that, I positioned an A2 white card panel on my stamping tool then, I stamped over it using; the Painted Background Stamp with Blush Pink Ink for a girly soft watercolor look. Once, the stamping was done, I removed the card panel out of the stamping tool and, I added it a few gold splatters. Right after that, I set the card panel aside to let it dry.
In the meantime, I ran through the die-cut machine the heart border dies from the Friendship Necklace Die Set to die-cut the solid pieces out of gold cardstock. Then, I removed the die-cutting pieces and, I made a second cut however, instead of having a solid piece, on the second time, I placed 2 of the dies included in the set that die-cut the letters from the inner part of the heart. I also ran though the die-cut machine the dies that die-cut the string and the loop to die-cut them out of the same gold cardstock. Once, all die-cutting pieces were done, I carefully removed the letters from the heart pieces and, I adhered the backing of the negative die-cutting to the solid gold heart piece, I did it this way because, I wanted to create the impression like if the letters were engraved on the heart. Lastly, I passed though the holes the loops and, I adhered them to the back of each heart pieces then, I passed thorough the loops the strings. Once, I’ve had put together the pieces, I adhered the hearts with dimensional and the strings with liquid glue to the card panel. To finish the card off, I trimmed the edges off slightly smaller than the card base, and I foam mounted the card panel to an A2 white top folding card base.
For the second card, I dry embossed an A2 light pink card panel to continue with the color scheme. To do that, I used an embossing folder from my stash. Once the dry embossing was done on the card panel, I trimmed the edges off from the card panel and I foam mounted the card panel to an A2 top folding white card base.
As, for the focal point, I repeated the same steps as the previous example for the heart pieces. However, instead of removing the letters, I left them for you to see the two ways that, I’ve used them on today’s cards. To finish the card off, I adhered the heart pieces and the elements on the lower right side of the card as shown above.
If you loved how, I’ve made the cards, I’m sure that you’re going to love how, I took the hearts die-cuttings concept to create a dimensional set of keychains. Although, I repeated the same steps as the first example for the engraving look on the hearts, I exchanged the inner dies for the ones that says ‘‘Love Always” instead of ‘‘Best Friends’’ I also added to the back of the hearts a mirrored die-cutting that I created using the border dies. To do that instead of die-cutting the hearts pieces as we normally do, I did it upside down by doing it this way instead of having a white backing I had a gold mirrored images not as smooth as if you do it in the right way but, better than having a white backing on a 3D keychain. I hope this makes sense to you, I know it sounds confusing but, I promise you that isn’t it as it sounds. To finish the hearts off, I adhered both sides of the hearts with dimensionals in the middle for a 3D look effect.
As, you can see in the picture above instead of adhering the die-cutting string, I created my very own chain version by twisting pieces of Metallic Embroidered Thread which, I tucked in afterwards as shown above. Lastly, once both heart pieces were completed, I created a small envelope to put them in and…because I wanted to add a extra something, something, I decided to create my own using the Envelope Ensemble Dies. I also used the dies that were included in the September’s Card Kit to create the flowers and the greenery that, I used to embellish the envelope. By the way the card kit was also by Spellbinders.
Finally, I adhered some Crystal Mix to the center of the flowers and a few Crystal Confetti here and there for a touch of sparkle. Phew…that was a lot, I hope you made it to the end, if you did, YAY!!! As always, I appreciate the time you take to read my blog posts.
