Mini Slimline & Shaped Butterfly┃Inspiration Cards

Happy Tuesday, Friends! On today’s blog, I’d like to share with you a very delicate set of inspiration cards made with a “Glimmering & Butterfly” look using: Butterflies Hot Foil Plate, Butterflies Layering Stencil Set and, Butterflies Die Set to create the mini shaped butterfly card. Also, for the mini slimline card, I used Essentials: Mini Slimline Frames Die to add the dainty frame plus, Heart Smiles Stamp and Heart Smiles Die for the cards sentiments. Last but certainly not least, PFS- Inks. to add the pop of color. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step-by-step for how I made them ↓

Therefore, I started off by selecting some pre-made butterflies that I had in my stash from previous posts. However, in case you wonder, here is what I used to made them Butterflies Hot Foil Plate, along with a large piece of Glimmer Hot Foil Roll - Polished Brass, Glimmer Hot Foil System Platform, and Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine for the hot foil stamping process. Besides that, I used Butterflies Layering Stencil Set and Butterflies Die Set.

That being said, after selecting the butterflies, I went ahead to line up the Butterflies Die Set over a large piece of white cardstock to cut out 2 more times the butterflies because, not only I wanted to add dimension but, I also needed a plain die-cutting piece to create the bottom flap for the butterfly shaped card.

Thus, to create the card base, I went ahead to line up over my Scoring Board one of the plain white die-cutting butterflies and then, I used my Teflon Bone Folder to add a scoring line at the very top part of its wings and, to be precise at 3/8 of an inch mark.

Next, right after that I had finished adding the scoring line, I went ahead to fold them outwards and then, I added a little Bearly Art Precision Craft Glue to the folding area to get the other plain die-cutting butterfly gluing down over it. Then, as soon as, I had the card base glued down, I went ahead to glue down the center of the detailed butterfly over the card base adding that way a little layering and dimensional look to it just, as shown in the image above.

Finally, to finish this mini butterfly shaped card, I added a sentiment to it so, for the sentiment, I used one of the sentiments included in Heart Smiles Stamp and, one of the coordinating dies included in Heart Smiles Die; then to add a dimensional look to the sentiment first, I went ahead to add 5 plain white die-cutting layers and second, I added skinny pieces of craft foam adhesive to get the sentiment adhered to the center of the butterfly and to raise dimension to it in order to be able to add fluffiness to the butterfly wings.

As for the second example, I went ahead to make a quick and simple white on white textured and dimensional mini slimline card. So, to do that first, I added texture to an A2 size white card panel using Heart Grid Foil Plate. Second, I used both dies included in Essentials: Mini Slimline Frames Die to cut out twice each of the dainty frames from white cardstock. Third, as soon as, I had finished cutting the dainty frames from the white cardstock, I went ahead to layer over the larger frame and then, I got the backing of it glue down to the textured panel. Next, I used my Paper Trimmer to trim off the excess pieces from the edges of it and then, I went ahead to get the backing of the layered card panel adhered with Double Sided Adhesive Foam Roll 1'‘ to a mini slimline white card base.

Lastly, to add more dimension to the card layout, I went ahead to get the backing of the smaller die-cutting frame adhered in the center of the front card panel using Double Sided Adhesive Foam Strips and then, to finish the card off, I went ahead to add dimension to the side view butterfly and the card sentiment in the same way as, I did in the previous example. By the way, the sentiment and coordinating dies are from the same sets that I used in the previous example. Also, here’s the list for the inks used to add the pops of colors to the butterflies: Ballet Slipper Ink, Sparkling Rose Ink, Peach Fuzz Ink, Candy Violet Ink and, Regal Kiss Ink.

Finally, here you have a side-by-side image for both cards, I decided to skip any extra embellishment to keep a cleaner and simpler look.
