Layered Glimmer Collection┃Inspiration Cards with Yasmin

Happy Saturday, Friends! On today’s blog, I’d like to share with you these 2 “For You” cards made showcasing the fabulous Layered Glimmer Collection by Spellbinders. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step by step on how I made them ↓

To begin with as usual when comes to foiling, I started by setting the Glimmer Hot Foil System Platform and the Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine on my craft table then, while the platform was heating up I went ahead to line up in the center over a Strathmore Smooth Bristol Panel the geometric frame from the Geometric Floral Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set. Next, I lined up over another panel the flowers from the Glimmered Botanical Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set and last but not least, I lined up over another panel the for you glimmer plate from the Especially For You Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set.

So, once I had them all lined up over the smooth paper panels I used sharp scissors to cut pieces of Glimmer Hot Foil Roll - Gold, and once I had that done I layered the foil and I started the foiling process using both Glimmer Hot Foil System Platform and the Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine. Therefore, after I’ve gotten the foiled, I set 2 card panel aside and I started the assembling process for the first card. Thus, the geometric set also includes 2 sprig glimmer plates, so I went ahead to lined up and get one foiled on the upper right corner and 2 on the lower left side corner of the geometrical frame.

Moving on, as my last foiling step I lined up a sentiment glimmer plate on the upper side of the geometrical frame, and I also got it foiled with glimmer gold hot foil. So, once I had the foiling for the card panel done, I set it aside and I went ahead to use the coordinated dies for the large flowers and I ran them through the die-cut machine to get them die-cut out from the smooth paper. Besides that, I also used the small dies from the geometric set along with some of the small dies included in the for you set to die-cut the sprigs and the small flowers. With that said, after I had the die-cutting process done, I did a quick water-coloring over the flowers and sprigs using a very light wash of pink and green hues, and lastly after the water-coloring was completely dry I glued with liquid glue the extra layering pieces for the large flowers, and right afterwards I created 2 clusters one using the large flowers and another with the small flowers, so last but not least I got them adhered to the card panel (as shown in the image above) using liquid glue and dimensional square adhesives to add dimension. Lastly, to finish the card off, I adhered with double-sided tape a H 5.0’’ X W 3-3/4’’ inches gold card panel to an A2 top folding white card base, and then I trimmed the edges off to H 5.0’’ X W 3-3/4’’ inches as well from the layered card panel and as soon as the edges were trimmed off I mounted it (as shown in the image above) with craft foam tape to complete it and add dimension.

For the second example, I made a square card so, I lined up over the for you foiled card the 2 largest die from the Elegant Twist Squares Etched Dies, and once they were lined up I ran them through the die-cut machine. Once, I had the die-cutting square done I decided to add extra touches of foil so, I went ahead to line up inside the die-cutting square the largest glimmer plate Essential Glimmer Squares Hot Foil Plates, and got the dotted foiling done.

Moving on, after adding the foil dotting touch to the card panel I started the assembling, Thus, to do that I trimmed down a gold card panel to 4.0’’ X 4.0’’ inches, and I adhered the backing of it with double-sided tape to a 4-1/4’’ X 4-1/4’’ inches top folding white card base. Then, I mounted the foiled card panel with craft foam tape over the card base to add dimension.

So, once I had the card base completed I went ahead to use the small dies from the for you set to die-cut some flowers and sprigs so, I had them die-cut out of the leftover watercolor scrap pieces, and then afterwards I created small cluster with them and I got them glued down (as shown in the image above) with liquid glue.

Finally, after both cards were complete, I glued down here and there with liquid glue a combination of crystal clear and pink jewels to add a touch of sparkle!
