Celebrate┃ Floral Shaker Cards

Happy Sunday, crafty friends! Are you a shaker card lover? If so, I think you’re going to like this set of 3 “Shaker” inspiration cards that I made using Stamp and Die sets by Pinkfresh Studio. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step by step on how I’ve made them ↓

To begin with, I started by placing inside my MISTI Stamping Tool a Strathmore Smooth Bristol Panel. Therefore, after the card panel was onto place I lined up the floral cluster from the Celebrate Today Stamp Set over the card panel using the help of the stamping tool to get the image stamped with Detail Black Ink. So, once I had the first floral cluster stamped, I kept moving the stamp and card panel to get the same floral cluster stamped in different places creating that way the pattern for the background.

Thus, after I had the stamping done I removed the card panel from the stamping tool, and I placed it over my Make Art Mini Stay-Tion All-in-One Magnetic Surface. So, after the card panel was onto place, I water-colored the flowers and leaves using a mix of Pink, Peach, Yellow, Orange and Green hues that I had previously mixed using Pinkfresh Watercolor Collection set & a touch of Winsor & Newton Designers Gouache.

With that said, after I had the water-coloring done, I set the card panel aside to it dry. Meanwhile, I lined up over a white card panel the die from the Ornate Oval Frame Die set and I got it die-cut 7X because, I wanted a very dimensional frame.

So, once I had the die-cutting frames done, I stacked 6 with liquid glue and then I ran through the Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine a large piece of acetate and an oval die from my stash to get the clear die-cutting layer to close the shaker window. Thus, after I had the acetate oval die-cutting piece, I adhered it over the dimensional frame, and then I adhered down the last white die-cutting frame to seal it.

Lastly, by the time that I had the dimensional shaker frame the card panel was completely dry, so I went ahead to line up the largest die from the Diagonal Stitched Rectangles Die Set, and once both were lined up, I ran them through the die-cut machine to get the frame die-cut it out of the paper and to add the diagonal stitching to the edges of the card panel. So, after having the card panel and the shaker frame done, I went ahead to start the assembling. For the assembling, I adhered down the card panel with double-sided tape to an A2 top folding white card base, and then I added lot of Crystal Confetti to the center of the card panel background. And, last but not least, I glued down the frame over the crystal to seal the shaker window, then to finish the card off, I mounted a dimensional die-cutting YOU word that I had previously created using gold cardstock and the die from the Sentiment suite: You Die Set and right afterwards, I also got a sub-sentiment gold heat embossed underneath the die-cutting word to complete the card and sentiment.
By the way, the small sentiment is from the Simply Sentiments - You Stamp Set.

For the second shaker card, I kept it simple by using once again the same hues to get the water-coloring done for the flowers and leaves.

However, to change thing a bit I got the floral image from the Celebrate Us Stamp Set stamped a few times over the card panel.

So, after the stamping and water-coloring for the card panel was complete, I set it aside to let it dry, and in the meanwhile, I created the shaker frame to do that I lined up the 2 largest dies from the set over a white card panel and I ran them through the die-cut machine to get the thin frame die-cut out of it. Then, I repeated the same step a few times to get a few die-cutting frames because, I wanted a to create dimension for a sturdy frame.

Moving along, after I had the die-cutting frames done, I stacked them all and I adhered a large piece of acetate in the same way as I did for the previous example. Then, I trimmed the edges off from the card panel and once I had that done, I adhered it with double-sided tape to an A2 top folding white card base.

Right afterwards, I added lot and lots of crystal over the background and last but not least, I mounted the shaker frame with skinny pieces of craft foam over it. Finally, to finish the card off I mounted a Birthday Wishes sentiment (as shown the image above) which I had created using 2 dies from the Pinkfresh Studio - Dies - Exclusive - Thin Words Everyday Script set.

NOTE: Before I forget, I’d like to mention that I also added white splattering to floral background.
