January 2021 Memorydex┃Inspiration Calendar

Happy Tuesday, Friends! On today’s blog, I’m excited to share with you something not new but, definitely new to me as the Memorydex System by Heidi Swapp has been around for quite some time so therefore, as soon as I found out that Scrapbook.com carried exclusively the beautiful Heidi Swapp Rolodex Spinner - Blush, I felt like I needed to give it a try as, I like to keep myself organize and up-to-date using a calendar system however, this year, I wasn’t planning to keep looking at a boring calendar or my planner which can be a little overwhelming sometimes with so many to do in it. Thus, this year I decided to combine my little knowledge from cardmaking and planning to create my very own and unique calendar using leftover pieces of scraps from previous projects with a touch of paper-crafting yet with a handmade vibe. So, if you’re interested in how I’ve made the first two Memorydex Cards from my 2021 Calendar, please keep on reading below ↓

To begin with, I started by creating the first textured tab on which I was planning to use as the cover for my JAN-2021 calendar so therefore, I went ahead to line up over a textured card panel one of the tabs from Heidi Swapp Memorydex Die Set - Tabs set. Once, I had them both line up, I went ahead to run them through my Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine. And then, right after that I had that done, I’ve gone ahead to line up the same tab over a piece of white cardstock and I repeated the same step to die-cut a second tab which, I’ve gotten adhered it to the first one using double-side tape to reinforce it up.

Moving on, after I’ve had finished creating the textured tab, I went ahead to place it down over my desk to start the embellishments for it. That said to embellish it, I went ahead to glue down with liquid glue on the left side of the tab a die-cutting flower and leaves which I’ve had previously die-cut out of vellum, green and light pink color cardstock. in case you wonder, I used Floral Cuts Cover Die for the tab and Fabulous Floral Layering Die for the flower and leaves.

Lastly, I went ahead to mount over the tab the January die-cutting word which I had previously die-cut using Month Die January and stacked for a dimensional look with a few die-cutting words from white and gold cardstock. That said, to finish my calendar tab cover off I went ahead to glue down with liquid glue a combination of shiny pink and white sequins adding that way a little extra shine!

Along with the January Monthly Tab, I also went ahead to make a 2021-year tab in numbers however, instead of making it plain/flat or textured, I decided to make it as a shaker tab you know, to add an extra touch of shine.

Therefore, to make the white frame, I used a die that was gifted to me by a dearly friend. For the inside of the shaker tab, I used one of the patterned paper from Heidi Swapp - Storyline Paper Pad as well as the “Let’s Do This” banner which is a sticker included in the paper pad.

As for the white die-cutting numbers for my 2021-year, I used the awesome number dies including in Heather’s Lowercase Die Set. And, for the floral cluster, I used a piece of the leftover floral cluster that I created not long ago using Floral Notes Stamp Set, Floral Notes Coordinating Die, Floral Notes Coordinating Stencil Set along with Ballet Slipper Ink, Peach Fuzz Ink and Misty Coast Ink.

Last but not least, as my shaker bits, I used a combination of shiny pink sequins along with a good amount of WRMK Glitter Mix to add an extra fine touch of sparkle!
