Happy Wednesday, Friends! On today’s blog, I’d like to share with you a set of “Sweetheart” inspiration cards made it using Waffle Flower’s - Oversized Heart Combo and Scalloped Shapes Bundle from their January’s Hearts & Roses Collection. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step-by-step for how I made them ↓
Therefore, I started by lining the largest die from Scalloped Squares Die Set over a large piece of white cardstock. Once, I had them both line up, I went ahead to run them through my Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine (2X) to get the top and bottom die-cutting white scalloped squares to create a scalloped shaped card. Next, after I had both scalloped square die-cutting pieces, I went ahead to place down one of them over my scoring board tool to mark a scoring line at 1/2’’ of an inch point mark. Thus, as soon as I had finished marking the scoring line, I’ve gone ahead to fold it over and then, I adhered a piece of double-sided tape which I peeled off to get both top and bottom die-cutting white scalloped adhered creating that way the scalloped shaped card base.
Moving on, after having the card base completed, I went ahead to add a pop of color using and ink blending brush along with the Inky Stripes stencil from Background Stencil Trio 1 Bundle and Blush Ink. So, after I had finished adding the subtle background to the card base, I went ahead to adhere down a glittery die-cutting scalloped square which I had previously die-cut out of white glitter cardstock using the second-to-last die from the set.
Lastly, to make the focal point of the card, I went ahead to line up the Heart die from Oversized Heart Combo over a large piece of white cardstock and I ran them through the die-cutting machine to die cut a few die-cutting heart words out white and gold cardstock. Once, I had that step done, I went ahead to line up the heart stamp image from the stamp set included in the combo over one of the white die-cutting words to get it stamped using once again Blush Ink. And, once I had that done, I’ve gone ahead to finish the card off by gluing down the layered and dimensional die-cutting heart word which I made by stacking a few whites and a gold words to add a gold shadow. Last but not least, I mounted (as shown in the image above) a sub-sentiment which I had previously stamped and gold heat embossing on a piece of white cardstock.
For the second example, I also made a shaped card but this time using Scalloped Hearts Die Set. However, instead of being a card base with an open and close feature, I left it as a tag with a decorative embellishment which I made using beads and jewelry pieces from my stash. Therefore, I went ahead to line up the largest die from the set over a large piece of white cardstock and I ran them through my die-cutting machine 2X. Thus, after I had that step done, I went ahead to adhere them together using double sided tape and once I had that done, I went ahead to add a subtle touch to the background.
To keep it simple, I decided to use the same stencil and color ink as I used on the previous example. So, after I had finished the ink blending over the die-cutting scalloped heart, I went ahead to glue down with liquid glue the die-cutting heart word which by the way, I’ve had previously created as well in the same way as I did in the previous example. Then, to change thing a bit, I went ahead to get a sentiment stamped and gold heat embossing (as shown in the image above) right over the scalloped heart base.
As for the decorative embellishment, I went ahead using my WRMK Crop-A-Dile to punch a hole on the top right side of the heart and then, I used a piece of Hemp Cord, a few Beads, a pre-made Tassel and a few simple Jewelry pieces from my stash to create the decorative embellishment which gave me a key chain vibe!
As finishing touches, I went ahead to stamp the heart included in the stamp set over a piece of white cardstock and I fussy cut out with a small pair of scissors. Lastly, I adhered it to the scalloped shaped card, and to finish them off I also used my Aqua Shimmer Pen to add a sparkly touch to the die-cutting heart words as well as Glossy Accent for an extra dimensional shiny finish.
With that being said friends, I hope that you’ve enjoyed reading the step-by-step for how I’ve made this set of “Sweetheart” inspiration cards which they could also be a Valentine’s Day Cards set.
