To create these cards, I started by dry embossing two A2 white card panel using an A2 Embossing Folder and the die-cutting machine. Once, the card panels were dry embossed, I set them aside along with the card bases.
In the meantime, I added lots of embossing ink to the first chipboard frame as, I wanted it to be fully cover for the embossing powder to stick to it and, once the frame was fully covered, I added the gold embossing powder from the WOW! Trio Riviera and, I heat set it. Once, the embossing powder was melted, I adhered the backing of the frame to the first white card panel that, I dry embossed earlier. Right after that, I decided to heat embossed also a chipboard butterfly with the darkest embossing powder from the trio. So, once the powder from the butterfly was melted, I adhered the backing of the butterfly to one of the sides of the frame as, you can see in the picture above. Lastly, in a piece of white card stock, I gold heat embossed a sentiment from the My Favorite Things to Say Stamp Set with WOW! Metallic Gold Rich which right afterwards, I trimmed and adhered on the other side of the frame with foam mounting tape to balance the dimension created from the frame on the card panel. Finally, to finish the card panel off, I decided to add a purple button for a pop of color, and a piece of Metallic Embroidered Thread for a touch of shine as, you can see in the picture above.
For the second example, I repeated the same steps to heat embossed the frame and butterfly as the previous example. So, once the butterfly and frame were done, I adhered the backing of the frame to second card panel followed for the butterfly. Although, I didn’t add the button, I did add a piece of gold thread to add the metallic accent to it.
Lastly, I gold heat embossed another sentiment from the same stamp set with WOW! Metallic Gold Rich which right after it was heat set, I trimmed and adhered to the card panel with foam mounting tape to balance once again the dimension create from the frame.
Finally, after both card panels were done, I adhered each of their backings to two to folding white card bases with double-sided tape. That being said, really hope that these glittery frames and butterflies inspire you to give them, and the “DIY Embellishments” challenge a try!
