Ella and Edward the Elephants Greeting Card
Happy Friday friends! Today, I’d like to share with you this cute Elephant greeting card that, I’ve made with the new Ella & Edward the Elephants Stamp Set & Ella & Edward the Elephants Crafting Dies from the Animal House Collection by Technique Tuesday. That being said, please keep on reading the blog post ↓
To begin with, I started by stamping both elephants from the Ella & Edward the Elephants Stamp Set on a piece of Strathmore Bristol Smooth with Versafine Onyx Black. Once, both elephants were stamped, I set them aside to dry. In the meantime, I mixed a light peachy/pink tones from my Derwent Inktense Paint watercolors pallet. Right after the mixing, I added with a paint brush a light wash of the watercolor mixing to the card panel and I set it aside to dry (by the way, I used Strathmore Bristol Smooth)
While the card panel was drying, I came back to the elephants which were already dry. So… I color them in using my Arteza Real Brush Pens in cool tones grays with a touch of pink for the elephants cheeks and ears. Right after when, I was done with the coloring, I ran through the die-cutting machine the colored images along with the Ella & Edward the Elephants Crafting Dies to die-cut the elephants out of the card stock.
Lastly, after the die-cutting, I trimmed the edges of the card panel down slightly smaller than the card base. And… I stamped and clear heat embossed a sentiment from the stamp set. To finish the card off, I adhered the backing of the first elephant with liquid glue to the card panel, and the second with foam mounting tape to add dimension. As, a finish touch after I adhered the backing of the card panel to the top folding white card base with double sided-tape, I stamped a few butterflies with black ink by the way the butterflies are also included in the stamp set. Soon after the stamping I covered each of the butterflies with Studio G Glitter Glue and to add even more sparkle, I adhered some of the Jewels Mix following the tracing from the butterflies as, you can see in the picture above. So, that’s all for today friends! I hope this card inspire you to give this design a try!
