Concord & 9th September-2021 Release┃Inspiration Cards

Happy Friday, Friends! I’m honored to be guest designing this month for Concord & 9th. Therefore, throughout the month of September, I’ll be sharing a few sets of cards that I’ll be making using their September-2021 Release. Thus, today I’d like to share with you the first set of “Merry & Bright” inspiration cards made using, Tiny Trees Bundle and Mix & Match Holiday Sentiments Bundle. Along with these fabulous sets, I’m using as well Grapefruit Enamel Dots and Stardust Enamel Dots to embellish the cards + their Ink Cubes Bundle and Assorted Color Cardstock. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step-by-step for how I made it ↓

To start off, I began by placing a large piece of white cardstock inside my MISTI Stamping Tool and then, I went ahead to line up over it, each single Christmas tree including in Tiny Trees Turnabout™ Stamp Set. Once, I had that step completed, I went ahead to get the stamping process done for the Christmas trees over the cardstock piece using, Stardust and Grapefruit color ink cubes.

Thus, as soon as I’ve had finished stamping each Christmas tree, I went ahead to line up over them their coordinating die including in Tiny Trees Dies which, right afterwards, I’ve gone ahead to run through my Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine to die-cut them out from the cardstock.

Moving on, after having finish the die-cutting process, I went ahead to set the die-cutting Christmas trees aside, so I could get the card sentiment stamped on a piece of Grapefruit color cardstock, using embossing ink and one of the sentiments including in the stamp set. I used embossing ink, because I wanted to add a subtle look and some texture at the same time by getting it heat emboss with white embossing powder.

Lastly, for the card assembling, I went ahead to trim down a front card panel out of a heavy weight translucent vellum piece to H 5.0” x W-3/4” inches using my Comfort Paper Trimmer. Next, after I’ve had done that, I’ve gone ahead to create a cluster using the Christmas trees and then, I had got them adhered to the translucent card panel using a combination of liquid glue and square foam adhesives to add a bit of dimension between them. Once, the trees were adhered to the card panel, I went ahead to mount the card sentiment over the upper side of the card using square foam adhesives as well to add more dimension. Last but not least, I went ahead to carefully mount the backing of the card panel to an A2 top folding white card base using strong craft foam adhesive to add even more dimension (only in the backing of the trees and the sentiment.) And, to finish the card off, I went ahead to adhere Grapefruit Enamel Dots and Stardust Enamel Dots to the trees using them as their Christmas ornaments creating that way a very dimensional holiday card, yet with a touch of subtle-frosted look.

For the second example, I went ahead to use the actual turnabout stamp including in Tiny Trees Turnabout™ Stamp Set to create the card background. So, to do that, I went ahead to line up the Turnabout™ Jigs tool inside my stamping tool, and once I had that step done, I had gone ahead to line up over it the alignment aid including in the stamp set. Soon after that, I went ahead to line up the turnabout stamp image over it and the, I went ahead to pick up the stamp using the stamping tool door.

Next, I started off the stamping by using my stamping tool and the same color combination that I used in the first example. However, if you are familiar with the turnabout stamping world, you might know that each of them have four stamping steps, so to create the card background, I went ahead to stamp 1 and 3 step using one of the ink colors + 2 and 4 step using the other ink color.

It might sound a bit complicated, but once you get the hang of it, it is simple to stamp and mass produce card backgrounds. Having that said, after I had finished stamping the card background, I had gone ahead to trim off the edges of it using my paper trimmer to H 5.0” x W-3/4” inches and then, I had gotten the backing of it adhered to an A2 top folding white card base with craft foam adhesive to add dimension. Then, as for the card sentiment, this month Concord & 9th is releasing Mix & Match Holiday Sentiments Bundle which, includes a one stamp that includes a bunch of sentiments and not only that as this bundle also includes a one piece die that die-cut each sentiment in one pass. How cool is that, isn’t it!???
Thus, I went ahead to stamp the sentiments using both ink color and then, I used the die to die-cut the sentiments.

Lastly, for the card assembling, I wrapped around a few time a large piece of DMC metallic gold to a smaller H 3.0” x 2-1/4” inches white panel and then, I mounted the backing of it to the card using craft foam adhesive to start building some dimension over the card. Next, I glued down a tied bow which I’ve had created out of the same metallic string and last but not least, I finished the card off by mounting 2 sentiments over the smaller card panel with craft foam adhesive, as well as some enamel dots and jewels to add a pop of shine to the card.

Finally, here’s a side by side look for today’s examples, and with that being said friends, I hope that you’ve enjoyed reading the step-by-step for how I’ve made this set of “Merry & Bright” inspiration cards using some of the just released stamp and die sets by Concord & 9th.
