Happy Friday, crafty friends! It’s feature Friday week 3 as Concord&9th guest designer so therefore today, I’d like to share with you this set of “Scenic & Shaker Holiday” cards that I’ve made using Seasonal Sayings Bundle and Merry Mantle Bundle along with their Assorted Color Cardstock and Ink Cubes Bundle. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step by step on how I’ve made them ↓
To begin with, I started by creating a slimline card using Merry Mantle Bundle so therefore, I’ve gone ahead to place a large piece of Strathmore Watercolor Paper inside my MISTI Stamping Tool. Next, after I’ve had the card panel in place, I’ve gone ahead to line up over it the stamp images from the stamp set and once I’ve them line up, I’ve gone ahead to stamp them using Dove Ink for a no-line coloring subtle look.
Then, right after I’ve had the stamping done, I removed the card panel from the stamping tool and I’ve gone ahead to watercolor each of the stamped images using a custom mixing watercolor hues which I’ve had previously mixed in my mixing palette. So, after I was done water-coloring each of the images, I’ve gone ahead to let them dry and once they were completely dry, I’ve gone ahead to line up over them their coordinated dies and right afterwards, I’ve gone ahead to run them through my Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine.
Lastly, after I’ve done die-cutting each image, I’ve set them aside and I moved on to create the card panel. For the card panel I’ve trimmed a piece of white cardstock to W 3-3/8’’ X 8-1/8’’ inches and to add color, I’ve gone ahead to ink it up using Grapefruit and Honeysuckle inks. To add texture, I’ve gone ahead to add white splatters using white acrylic paint and to add dimension I’ve gone ahead to mount it over a slim white card base using craft foam and double-sided tape. Finally, to finish the card off, I’ve glued down some of the die-cut images while I’ve gone ahead to mount others using craft foam tape until I’ve create the full Christmas scene which you can see in the image above. Then, as embellishments, I’ve gone ahead to glue down with liquid glue over the wreath tiny jewels and leaves which I’ve previously die-cut out translucent vellum for a fuller look. Also, I’ve added and metallic touch, by using metallic thread and last but not least, I’ve mounted the sentiment which I’ve had previously gold heat embossed over a piece of white cardstock as well as some jewels which I’ve glued down here and there with liquid glue for an extra sparkly look.
Moving along, for the second card I made a shaker card using Seasonal Sayings Bundle. So to begin with, I started by creating the card panel therefore to do that, I’ve gone ahead to lined up over a white card panel the MERRY die included in the bundle. Next, after I’ve had them line up, I’ve gone ahead to run them through the die-cut machine and so on and so forth I’ve gone ahead to repeat this step 2 more times creating that way a die-cutting card panel.
Thus, after I’ve had die-cutting the card panel, I’ve adhered the backing of it to a large piece of acetate and then, I went ahead to add lot of Crystal Confetti over an ink blended card panel which, I’ve had previously ink up in the same was as I did for the slimline card then right after that, I’ve gone ahead to mount with craft foam the die-cut patterned card panel creating that way a shaker card.
Finally, to finish the card off, I’ve gone ahead to embellish the card (as shown in the image above) by gluing down with liquid glue 2 floral cluster which I’ve created using the small dies included in the set and Ballet Slipper, Grapefruit, Sprout and Parsley cardstock as well as gold cardstock which I’ve used for the Christmas die-cutting word. The die word is included in the set as well as the sentiment which by the way I’ve previously gold heat embossed on a piece of white cardstock and mounted with craft foam tape to add dimension. Besides the floral clusters, I’ve also glued down here and there jewels to complement the sparkle from one card to the other.
