Happy Sunday, Friends! On today’s blog, I’d like to share with you this set of “Girly Encouragement” cards made showcasing stamp sets from the wonderful Stamp Camp Collection by Jane Davenport. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step by step on how I made them ↓
To begin with, I started by placing inside my MISTI Stamping Tool a Strathmore Watercolor Panel. Then right after that, I’ve gone ahead to line up on the left side of the watercolor panel the girl image stamp from the Walk With Courage Stamp Set. So therefore, once I’ve had them line up, I’ve gone ahead to stamp the image using Detail Black Ink. Thus, soon after I’ve had the stamping done, I’ve removed the card panel and I went ahead to temporarily adhere down the card panel over my Make Art Mini Stay-Tion All-in-One Magnetic Surface.
Once the card panel was onto place, I’ve gone ahead to get the water-coloring done, Thus, for the water-coloring first, I’ve gone ahead to get the card panel background painting using a Blue and Purple hues combination which I’ve had previously mixed in my mixing palette using Watercolors Set Brights ArtEssentials and White Nights Watercolor. Then, for the girl, I’ve used a combination of muted Pink and Purple with a touch of Metallic Rose Gold and Brown/Skin hues for her hair and skin. Once, I’ve had the water-coloring done, I’ve set it aside to let it dry and once it was completely dry, I’ve gone ahead to trim the edges of the card panel. Then soon after that, I’ve gone ahead to get the sentiment white heat embossed in the upper right side of the card panel (as shown in the image above) using WOW! Opaque Bright White. Lastly, after the heat embossing, I’ve gone ahead to trace a gold frame around the card panel using a ruler and my Uni-Ball Signo Gel Pen-Gold. Therefore, after I’ve had that step done, I’ve gone ahead to mount the card panel with craft foam and double-sided tape over an A2 textured white card base to add dimension, and last but not least, I’ve finished the card by gluing down here and there with liquid glue Crystal Confetti and jewels to add a touch of sparkle!
For the second card, I’ve gone ahead and get the stamping done using black ink (as shown in the image above) however, I’d like to mention that the Glorious Mermaid Stamp Set only includes the large mermaid image and the waves so with that said, after I’ve had the mermaid image and waves stamped I’ve gone ahead to get the water-coloring done. Thus for the water-coloring I’ve used the same color combination that I’ve previously use plus, Turquoise and Green hues for the seaweeds and the mermaid’s tail.
NOTE: the seaweeds and sentiments used for this card are from the Shellebrate Clear Stamp Set.
Moving on, after I’ve had finished the water-coloring and the painting was completely dry, I’ve gone ahead to trim down the edges from the card panel and before I mounted it to the card base, I’ve went ahead to get 2 sentiments from the Shellebrate Clear Stamp Set stamped and white heat embossed directly over the card panel while, I’ve also went ahead to white heat emboss a third sentiment over a piece of black cardstock to complete the full sentiment for the card. Lastly, after I’ve finished the heat embossing, I’ve gone ahead to mount the card panel over an A2 textured card base with craft foam and double-sided tape, as well as the sentiment which, I’ve trimmed down to a black strip. Then, to finish the card off, I’ve gone ahead to add touches of the mermaid’s tail using gold using metallic watercolor paint as well as crystal sequins and WOW! Stroke of Midnight Sparkles which, I’ve glued down with liquid glue for an extra shiny look.
