Concord & 9th Happy Festives┃Inspiration Cards

Happy Friday, Friends! It’s feature Friday over at Concord & 9th. Thus, today I’d like to share with you a trio of “Festive” inspiration cards made using, Card Stacks Base Die to make the shaped card, Big on Christmas Bundle to make the A7 size card and Fa La La Fringe Tree Bundle to make the A2 size card. Besides using these sets, I used as well Tiny Trees Bundle, Iconic Christmas Bundle, Let It Snow Turnabout Stamp Set to create the card backgrounds + Turnabout™ Jigs as the alignment tool. Lastly, I’m using Assorted Color Cardstock to create the card base for the shaped card, and Ink Cubes Bundle as my stamping color media. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step-by-step for how I made them ↓

To begin with, I started off by stamping the card background insert, so therefore I went ahead to line up the Turnabout™ Jigs tool inside my stamping tool, and once I had that step done, I went ahead to line up over it the alignment aid including in the Iconic Christmas Bundle. Soon after that, I went ahead to line up the turnabout stamp image over it, and then I went ahead to pick up the stamp using the stamping tool door.

Next, I started off the stamping over an A2 size white card panel. Thus, if you are familiar with the turnabout stamping world, you might know that each of them have four stamping steps, so to create the card background, I went ahead to stamp 1 and 3 step using Ballet Slipper ink then, 2 and 4 step using Stardust ink. Thus, after having the card background stamped, I went ahead to get inserted it inside of a pre-made A2 white card base with an opening window and then, I proceeded to start the card assembling. As, for the card assembling, I went ahead to die-cut some white and glittery snowflakes using the dies including in the bundle, and then I got them glued down in the upper right corner of the card window.

Moving on, to keep going with the card assembling, I went ahead to put the card base off to the side while, I went ahead to line up the largest stamp image including in Big on Christmas Stamp Set, so I could get the large sentiment stamped with embossing ink and then heat embossing with gold embossing powder over a large piece of white cardstock. Having that said, after finishing the stamping for the large sentiment, I went ahead as well to get a smaller sentiment stamped and gold heat embossing over a white strip of cardstock, and then I used its coordinating die including in Big on Christmas Dies to die-cut the sentiment out of the white cardstock piece. Lastly, I used the same die to get a few more die-cutting sentiments out of plain white cardstock which right afterwards, I got them stacked to create a dimensional look.

Finally, to finish the card off, I went ahead to glue down the large and dimensional sentiment (as shown in the image above.) And, then I got glued down here and there some sparkling jewels to add an extra pop of shine to the card.

For the next example, I went ahead to place down inside my MISTI Stamping Tool an A2 size white card panel, and then I went ahead to line up over it both stamp images including in Fa La La Fringe Tree Stamp Set. Next, I got them both stamped with Sprout ink. And, once I had finished stamping both images, I went ahead to line up over them their coordinating dies including in Fa La La Fringe Tree Dies set, and then I ran them through my Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine to die-cut each piece for the fringed Christmas tree.

After finishing the previous step, I went ahead to repeated it once again, but this time to die-cut the fringed Christmas tree out of glittery cardstock. Therefore, I went ahead to stack the stamped-die-cutting images over the glittery die-cutting pieces, and then I fringed a bit the ends by bending them up to add some dimension to the tree. Then, I used the die including in the set to die-cut the ornaments and then I got them glue down following the design from the tree. To finish the die-cutting process off, I went ahead to use the Falala die to die-cut the word out of gold and white cardstock. Which right after, I got it stacked to add dimension and glued down over the tree.

Lastly, I went ahead to start the card assembling, so to do that, I went ahead to place an A2 size white card panel over my scoring board tool and then I marked twelve scoring lines on the top and bottom sides of it. Next, I got trim off the edges from it a bit smaller than the card base using my Comfort Paper Trimmer, and then I got the backing adhere it with double-sided adhesive to an A2 top folding white card base. Then, I got the tree mounted over the card using craft foam adhesive to add dimension and last but not least, I went ahead to finish the card off by mounting two extra sentiments which I’ve had previously stamped and gold heat embossing over a strip of white cardstock. By the way, I used the sentiments including in Big on Christmas Stamp Set for the smaller sentiment and as a finishing touch I also glue down a glittery star to the tree.

For my last example, I made a shaped card using Card Stacks Base Die along with the tiny trees made using Tiny Trees Turnabout™ Stamp Set and Tiny Trees Dies. So therefore, I went ahead to line up the large die from the set over a large piece of Ballerina Slipper colored cardstock and then I ran them through my die-cut machine.

Next, after finishing the die-cutting process, I went ahead to fold the ends over created by the die, and the I put the base off to the side. Meanwhile, I went ahead to line up over a large piece of white cardstock the three dies that create the pop-up inserts for the shaped card, and then I went ahead to run them through the die-cut machine. Once, I had that step done, I proceeded to fold over the scoring lines create by the dies on each die-cutting pieces and then I got them adhered to the card base using narrow double-sided adhesive.

Thus, the card base should look like the image above once it’s assembled. Having that said, after finishing the assembling for the card, I went ahead to get it embellished with the tiny trees which I’ve had previously created using once again the single stamp images and dies including in Tiny Trees Turnabout™ Stamp Set and Tiny Trees Dies. By the way to get the trees stamped I used Ballerina Slipper, Sprout and Stardust inks.

Lastly, to add an extra festive and wintry touch to the shaped card, I went ahead to stamp a card background using Let It Snow Turnabout Stamp Set along with Ballerina Slipper and Stardust inks. Then, to shape the background piece, I used the same die that I used to create the base. So, after finishing die-cutting the shaped background, I went ahead to trim off the edges using my paper trimmer to make it smaller and then I got it glue down to the card. And, to finish the card off, I went ahead to get one of the sentiments including in Fa La La Fringe Tree Stamp Set stamped and heat embossing on a strip of white cardstock and then I got it mounted to the card (as shown in the image above.) Also, you can see in the image above that this shaped and layered card fits perfectly inside of an A2 size envelope once the edges are flattened.
