Happy Wednesday, Friends! On today’s blog, I’d like to share with you a “Wintry Forest” girly/subtle inspiration card made using Wintry Forest Stencil set. Along with cool stencil set, I’m using as well Essentials: Stitched Scallop Rectangles Die Set to add the scalloped die-cutting frame and Essentials: Jewel Mix to add a pop of shine + PFS- Inks to ink up the subtle and delicate wintry card background. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step-by-step for how I made it ↓
Although, the Wintry Forest Stencil set includes six stencils, I tried to keep it as simple as possible by only using three color inks therefore, I went ahead to place down an A2 size white card panel over my Stencil Mat and then, I went ahead to line up over it the stencil #1 from the set.
Next, I started to ink up the card panel through the stencil using an ink blending brush along with Ballet Slipper Ink. Then, I kept going with the layered stenciling by using stencil #2 with a very soft inking with Ballet Slipper Ink + a touch of Peach Fuzz Ink to create a gradient color between them.
Then, I used stencil #3 along with Peach Fuzz Ink followed by stencil #4 along with a mix between Peach Fuzz Ink + Warm Buff Ink to create a secondary gradient color. Lastly, I used stencil #5 along with Warm Buff Ink and last but not least stencil #6 along with a craft spatula and Glitter Snow to add a glittery and textured wintry look to the last layer. Besides adding the textured snowy layer, I added some white splatters using acrylic white paint and a painting brush + I added some shimmer as well to it by spraying the card background with craft shimmer spray in Sparkle.
Having that said, while the textured layer of snow and splatters were drying out over the card panel, I went ahead to put it aside while I started the die-cutting for the scalloped frame. Thus, for the scalloped frame, I went ahead to line up over an A2 size white card panel the largest die including in Essentials: Stitched Scallop Rectangles Die Set and then I went ahead to run them through my Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine.
So, after having the die-cutting scalloped frame finished, I went ahead to trim off the edges from the inked card panel to W 4.0” x H 5-1/4” inches using my Comfort Paper Trimmer and then, I got the backing of it mounted over and A2 size Kraft top folding card base. Next, I got mounted the scalloped frame over it using pieces of craft foam adhesive to add dimension and then, I finished the card off by gluing down a layered and dimensional sentiment in the lower right side of the card. A sentiment, which by the way I’ve had previously created by stamping and heat embossing over a pieces of white cardstock and die-cut it several times out of white cardstock and glittery cardstock to add a glittery shadow to it.
Then, as a finishing touch I went ahead to glue down here and there some Jewels: Ballet Slipper to add even more shine to the card. And, with that being said friends, I hope that you’ve enjoyed reading the step-by-step for how I’ve made this “Wintry Forest” girly/subtle inspiration card using products by Pinkfresh Studio.
