Happy Friday, Friends! On today’s blog, I will be sharing with you a whimsical and airy inspiration card made with a “Lacey Edges & Pop-Up” effect using: Chrysanthemum Washi, Chrysanthemum Die, and Chrysanthemum Stamp from the latest October-2022 Washi Release by Pinkfresh Studio. Along with this set, I’ve also used Slim Lacy Edgers Die Set to add the delicate lacey effect to the pop-up edges plus, Tulip Love Coverplate Die to add texture to the card background. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step-by-step for how I made it ↓
Therefore, I started off by unrolling the Chrysanthemum Washi and tape it down over a large piece of white cardstock. Next, after getting the washi tape down to the cardstock, I used the one-piece Chrysanthemum Die along with my Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine to cut out the floral images from the white cardstock piece just as, I have done it before with all Pinkfresh Studio Washi-tape Rolls.
Thus, after getting the die-cutting step completed, I proceeded to put the floral images aside, and then I went ahead to trim down three pieces of white cardstock using the Paper Trimmer. So, the first one was at H 4-1/2 x W 5-3/4. The second was at, H 3.0 x W 5-3/4 and the last one was at H 2.0 x W 5-3/4 inches.
Moving on, after I had finished trimming them down, I proceeded to place each of them over my Scor-Pal Eighths with the larger side horizontally to get add some scoring lines over the right and left ends. Therefore, to add the scoring lines, I used the pencil included in Craft Treat Teflon Bone Folder to trace the scoring lines at 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, 5.0, 5-1/4, and 5-1/2. Nevertheless, after getting the scoring lines traced over the cardstock piece, I went ahead to fold them over in mountain, valley, and mountain folds on each side. Next, after folding them over, I used one of the dies included in the Slim Lacy Edgers Die Set to add the lacey edges to each of them and once I had that step completed, I used a pair of scissors to fussy cut out the excess leaving the lacey edges only in the front parts.
So, to keep going as soon as, I had finished fussy cutting out the excess pieces from the edges of each cardstock piece, I went ahead to put them aside while I used the Tulip Love Coverplate Die along with an A2 size white card panel and the Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine to add texture to the card panel. Then, after adding the texture to the card panel, I went ahead to get the backing of it glued down over an A2 size top folding white card base.
Right afterward that I had the texture panel glued down to the card base, I went ahead to place the card base flat down over my craft mat, and then I proceeded to get the pop-up effect assembled over it by getting the pieces gluing down in the order that you can see in the image above.
Here is one more image above for you to see how dimensional this card is after adding the pop-up effect by getting each piece glued down one on top of the other but even with all the dimensions added to the card, I would like to mention that this card will still fit on a standard A2 size envelope.
Having that said, as soon as, I had added the pop-up effect, I proceeded to get the card embellished using the die-cutting floral images that I created early by using the washi and the die.
In the image above, I’m showing you how I spread them out to create a full garden look over each pop-up effect and the textured card background. Lastly, after getting the floral images glued down over the card, I also used one of the sentiments included in the Chrysanthemum Stamp to get it stamped and gold heat embossing on a piece of white cardstock. As per usual when I do stamping and heat embossing, I used Magic Powder Bag, Brutus Monroe Embossing Ink, Metallic Embossing Powder- Gilded, and Wow Dual Speed Heat Tool for the heat embossing step. By the way, I used the coordinating die as well to cut the card sentiment out from the cardstock and a few more from plain white cardstock to make it dimensional.
Finally, here is one more image in case you were wondering how I got the images glued down over the card.
And, with that being said friends, I hope that you’ve enjoyed reading the step-by-step for how I’ve made this whimsical and airy inspiration card with a “Lacey Edges & Pop-Up” effect using some of the products from the latest October-2022 Washi Release by Pinkfresh Studio.
