Happy Wednesday, Friends! Today, I’d like to share an extra sparkly “Thankful” inspiration card that I’ve made for the “OCT-2020 “Sparkles & Shine” challenge theme over WOW! Embossing Powders Facebook Page using WOW! It Changers - Lightening Effects Kit and WOW! Trio Summer Scoops. So, without further ado, let’s jump right into the step-by-step on how I made it ↓
To begin with, I started by die-cutting out of Strathmore Watercolor Paper a large amount of Autumn leaves using Mini Autumn Leaves Dies and a few flowers using Fall Bouquets | Honey Cuts. Therefore, after I’ve had finished die-cutting them, I’ve gone ahead to get them water-colored using a mixing of warm watercolor hues which I’ve had previously mixed on my mixing palette using a combination of Daniel Smith and HWC watercolor tubes.
Next, while the flowers and leaves were air-drying, I’ve gone ahead to add a quick wash of watercolor to the white pumpkin. Thus, after I’ve had finished adding a pop of color to my white pumpkin, I went ahead to die-cut the thankful word 3X, and once I’ve had finished die-cutting them, I’ve gone ahead to stacked them so therefore, after I’ve had created the dimensional word, I’ve gone ahead to get it heat emboss using Lemon Sorbet powder from WOW! Trio Summer Scoops plus, as usual WOW! Embossing Pad and my WOW! Heat Embossing Gun Tool.
Lastly, after I’ve finished heat embossing the dimensional die-cutting Thankful word and the water-colored pieces were completely dry, I’ve gone ahead to start the assembling for the card so to do that first, I’ve mounted over an A2 top folding white card base with craft foam and double-sided tape a small textured card panel which I’ve had previously created using Viva Decor Artline Crackling Paste and Mesh Stencil. Second, I’ve mounted the white water-colored pumpkin with square foam adhesives to add dimension. Third, I’ve created a cluster with the water-colored autumn leaves and flowers however, before I’ve glued the leaves down, I decided to add them a glittery texture touch so, I’ve gone ahead to quickly add Mod Podge using a small paint brush, and once I’ve had that done, I’ve gone ahead to cover them in using Glisten powder from the WOW! It Changers - Lightening Effects Kit.
So, after I’ve finished adding the glittery texture to the leaves, I’ve gone ahead to glue down each of them with liquid glue and to mount the die-cutting flowers with square foam adhesives creating that way the focal point of the card. Last but not least, after I’ve had finished it that, I’ve gone ahead to mount the Thankful die-cutting word and to finish the card off, I’ve added white highlights to the flowers and I’ve glued down here and there with liquid glue jewels to add an extra touch of shine.
