Happy Monday, friends! It’s week 4 for the February’s Embossing Glitters/Glintz challenge over at the WOW! Embossing Powders Facebook Page. Did you know that WOW! has an embossing brush? Which is a great tool for Freestyle or Mixed Media looks. So, on today’s blog, we’re going to get a little bit Artsy using the new; WOW! Mixed Media Embossing Brush to create the brush strokes on the card panel for today’s Glitter Everything card. Also, along with the Mixed Media Embossing Brush, I used; WOW! Opaque Bright White Ultra High, WOW! Metallic Gold Sparkle and WOW! Clear Sparkle. To begin with, I started by placing over my Make Art Stay-Tion-All-in-One Magnetic Surface an A2 heavy weight white card panel. Next, I added lots of Embossing Powder Tool because, I wanted the glitter to stay just where I needed to be. Then, I secured the card panel with the magnets and I added the embossing bush strokes using the; WOW! Mixed Media Embossing Brush.
As you can see in the image above, I wasn’t precise on where I was placing the brush because, I wanted an Artsy/Abstract/Freestyle/Messy/Glittery you name it… card panel. WOW! That was a fun and long description!? LOL.
Having the brush strokes in place, I covered them with WOW! Metallic Gold Sparkle and I proceed to heat embossed them with my WOW! Heat Embossing Gun Tool until the glitter was complete melted.
Right after when the heat embossing was done, I trimmed off the edges from the card panel and I foam mounted it on top of an A2 size top folding white card base. Then, when the card base was done, I set it aside and I moved on to create the focal point for the card.
To create the focal point which, in this case was the paint palette thus, I ran through my Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine the Paint Palette Die to die-cut it out 4X of white cardstock. Next, I carefully inked up every other swatch from one of the die-cutting palettes with the following inks; Blush Pink, Bubble Gum, Sea Glass and Tropic Teal. Once, the swatches were inked up, I inked up the ones without ink but this time, I used embossing ink instead.
With all the swatches inked up, I carefully added WOW! Clear Sparkle to the ones with color ink and WOW! Metallic Gold Sparkle to the ones with embossing ink. So, after adding the glitters, I heat set them until they were completely melted. To add extra a cool effect, right at the exact moment that, the heat setting was done, I quickly sprinkled over it WOW! Opaque White Ultra High, and I heat set it again until the granulated powder was melted. Lastly, I poked out the swatches from the die-cutting palette, and I inlaid them on 1 from the other 3-white die-cutting palettes that I had left. To finish the palette off, I stacked all die-cutting palettes to create a dimensional piece. Once I had the dimensional die-cutting palette done, I placed it inside of my stamping tool to stamp and gold heat emboss a sentiment right in the center with WOW! Metallic Gold Rich.
Finally, when the Paint Palette was done, I foam mounted it to the card base as shown above. At first, I thought about leaving it as is but, I decided to add a brush. So, I went back to gold heat embossed a brush on a piece of white cardstock which, soon after that I used its coordinated die to die-cut it out from the white card stock. (By the way the brush is part of the Wake up and Makeup Stamp & Die Set and the sentiment is from the Crafty Life Stamp Set.) To finish the card off, I foam mounted the brush over the paint palette, and I adhered with liquid glue here and there some of the You’re Peachy Sequins for an extra touch of shine.
