Happy Monday, Friends! Phew, it’s the last week for AUG-2020 “Masculine” challenge theme over at the WOW! Embossing Powders Facebook Page. So therefore, this week I’ve created this leafy and colorful “Thinking of You” masculine card made using WOW! Midnight Dream and WOW! Metallic Gold Rich powders. With that being said, I’d like to invite you to come and play along with us for a chance to win a $15.00 or ₤15.00 gift card to WOW! US or WOW! UK online stores. So, without further ado, let’s jump right into the step by step on how I made it ↓
To begin with, I started by creating 2 watercolor backgrounds so, to do that I went ahead to get paint 1 large piece of Strathmore Watercolor Paper with different hues of Green as well as another large piece of watercolor paper but, using different hues of Blue.
Therefore, after I had the water-coloring done, I took a step further by adding a touch of acrylic painting before each panel got completely dry. So, after I’ve had added the metallic acrylic paint I set the painted panels aside and I moved on to create the glittery background for the card.
So, for the background panel I went ahead to fully inked up a white card panel using my WOW! Embossing Pad and once I had the sticky surface done, I covered the whole surface with WOW! Midnight Dream. Thus, after I’ve had that step done, I heated set the powder using my WOW! Heat Embossing Gun Tool, and as soon as the powder was melted, I trimmed the edges down from the card panel and I went ahead to get the backing of it adhered with double-sided tape to an A2 top folding white card base.
Moving along, after I had the card base for the card, I set it aside and I moved on to get the die-cutting leaves done. So, for that I lined up over one of the painted background panels the top layer of the monstera leaf from the Lovely Layers: Monstera Leaf Die and I run them though my Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine. Once, I had the first die-cutting leaf done, I repeated the same step, and so on and so forth until I’ve gotten a few die-cutting leaves from each painted card panel.
Lastly, after I had the die-cutting leaves done, I mounted each of them with small pieces of craft foam tape to create a very contrasted and dimensional pattern. Then, to finish the card off I mounted a sentiment which I’ve had previously gold heat emboss on a piece of navy cardstock using one of the sentiments from the Thinking of You Stamp Set and my most ever use WOW! Metallic Gold Rich. Finally, after the sentiment was mounted with craft foam tape to the card, I added an extra sparkle touch by gluing down here and there blue jewels from my Essentials: Jewel Mix! With that being said friends, I hope you’ve enjoyed reading the step by step on how I’ve created this “Thinking of You” masculine inspiration card.
