Hello and happy STAMPtemberⓇ! It’s release day and the biggest celebration over at Simon Says Stamp YAY!!! Therefore, to celebrate I’m join in this awesome blog party sharing with you a set of 2 “Vintage” cards made using the just released Old Letter 1878 Cling Stamp. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step by step ↓
To begin with, I started by placing inside the MISTI Stamping Tool a Strathmore watercolor panel so, once I had it into place, I lined up over it the Old Letter 1878 Cling Stamp. Therefore, after I had them both line up, I went ahead to get the card panel prepped with embossing powder tool, and once it was prepped I went ahead to get the stamping done with embossing ink (3X) for a better impression due the texture of the watercolor paper.
Therefore, after I had the stamping done, I removed the card panel out the stamping tool and I covered the stamping with WOW! Opaque Bright White so, as soon after the stamping was covered with the embossing powder, I went ahead to heat set the powder with my WOW! Heat Embossing Gun Tool until it was completely melted. Thus, after I had the heat embossing done, I placed the card panel over my Make Art Mini Stay-Tion All-in-One Magnetic Surface, and once it was into place, I went ahead to get a quick wash of watercolor over it in a gradient way using a mix of rusty-neutral Blue which I had created using a combination of Pinkfresh Watercolor Collection, Winsor & Newton Designers Gouache, White Nights Watercolor and W&N Neutral Tint.
Moving on, after I had the white heat embossed card panel water-colored, I set it aside to dry, and in the meantime I went ahead to stamp a few flowers and leaves with No Line Ink over a large piece of watercolor paper. For the flowers and leaves I used Delicate Flowers Stamp & Dies, Look For the Rainbows Stamp & Dies and Be Kind Stamp & Dies. And for the water-coloring, I mixed a rusty combination of Pink, Purple, Peach, Creamy-Beige, Gray, Blue and Green hues for a cute floral-vintage look.
Lastly, after I had the water-coloring done and the flowers and leaves were completely dry, I went ahead to lined up over each of them their coordinated dies and I ran them through the die-cut machine to die-cut them out from the watercolor paper. Thus, after I had the die-cutting done, I came back to the card panel and I went ahead to trimmed the edges down a bit smaller than the card base, and once I had that done, I went ahead to adhere the backing of it with double-sided tape to an A2 top folding white card base. Right after, I created a pretty large cluster with the die-cutting flowers and leaves and once I’ve had it created, I went ahead to glue down some of the them with liquid glue and some of them with craft foam tape to add dimension.
Finally, after I had the cluster adhered to the card, I went ahead to add a few highlights using a white gel pen and to finish the card off, I mounted a sentiment which I had previously white stamped and heated emboss it over a leftover piece of watercolor. And as a finishing touch, I glued down here and there Crystal Confetti to add a touch of Sparkle! With that being said friends, I hope you’ve enjoyed reading the step by step on how I’ve made this set of 2 “Vintage” cards made using the just released Old Letter 1878 Cling Stamp by Simon Says Stamp.
