TT Fabulous Flax Greeting Cards
Hello, Friends! I cannot even believe that I'm a month behind since this set was released. So, on today’s blog I’d like to share with you how I’ve made these 2 Hello cards featuring the January’s Fabulous Flax Stamp & Fabulous Flax Crafting Die sets from the Greenhouse Society collection by Technique Tuesday so, without further ado, please keep reading below ↓
For the first example, I started by placing a large piece of Strathmore Watercolor Card Stock on my stamping tool. Next, I treated the watercolor cardstock with lots of Embossing Powder Tool because, I was going to stamp with Embossing Ink the flower cluster along with a single flower which I stamped 3X and a few extra leaves. By the way, these are also included in the Fabulous Flax Stamp.
Once, the stamping process was done, I added Oyster Glintz Embossing Powder over it, and I heat set the powder with my WOW! Heat Embossing Gun Tool until the powder was completely melted. Right after, I temporarily tape down on a clipboard the watercolor cardstock piece, and I water-colored the flowers and leaves in Coral and Green hues using my Derwent Watercolor Paint Set. Soon after when the water-coloring was done, I set the clipboard aside to let the painting dry.
In the meantime, I placed inside my stamping tool an A2 size white card panel, and I treated as well with lots of embossing tool because, I was going to gold heat emboss a sentiment on the lower right side of it. Right after the heat embossing, I trimmed the edges off from the card panel to H 5-1/4’’ x W 3-3/4’’in. Lastly, I foam mounted the white card panel to an A2 top folding white card base. By the time that I done creating the card base my water-coloring was dry so, I ran through my Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine the images along with the coordinated dies from the Fabulous Flax Crafting Die Set to die-cut them out of the watercolor cardstock. Once the die-cutting pieces were done, I adhered the backing of the floral cluster with liquid glue to the left side of the card. For the single flowers and leaves, I decided to adhere them over the image with dimensional pieces for a 3D effect.
For the second example, I kept it even simpler as, I decided to gold heat emboss the floral cluster from the set directly on the right side of the card panel. As you can see in the image above, I also kept the same combination of sentiments with the only difference that, I gold heat embossed them in the opposite side as my previous example.
Other than that… the water-coloring and the measurements for the card panels were the same so, after I was done with the card panel, I foam mounted it to an A2 top folding white card base.
Finally, as a finishing touch, I adhered jewels from my Jewels Mix to the center of each flowers on both cards for a very sparkly look. With that being said, that’s all for today friends, I hope these cards inspire you to give them a try! As always, I appreciate the time you take to read my blog posts below; you’ll find the supply list for the products used on today’s blog post.
