Simple Blossoms, Thanks Cards
Hi, Friends! I hope you’re having an awesome day! On today’s blog post, I’d like to share with you these 2 perfectly-imperfect floral stamped Thanks cards that, I’ve created using the beautiful; Simple Blossoms Stamp Set by Pinkfresh Studio. So, without further ado, please keep on reading below ↓
To begin with, I started by selecting a few ink pads to create the color combination that, I was going to use for my stamping. I decided to use soft colors so, I selected a darker and a lighter color from the same color range. For the stems and leaves, I used; Olive Ink. For the Peach flowers, I used; Peach Fuzz Ink and Coral Reef Ink. For the Pink flowers, I used; Ballet Slipper Ink and Sparkling Rose Ink. Lastly, for the Yellow flowers, I used; Lemon Whip Ink and Apricot Ink.
Once I had the color selection done, I created the portrait card so, I stamped the largest Pink flower in the center of the card panel. Next, I stamped the Peach flower on the left side of the card panel. Lastly, I stamped the Yellow flower on the right side of the card panel (All 3 flowers as shown above) Right after that, I stamped once again the peach flower on a piece of masking tape which after the stamping, I fussy cut it out from the masking tape with my scissors and placed it over the flower to cover it because, I was going to stamp over it the stems for the Pink flower. To finish the stamping out, I removed the masking from the Peach flower, and I stamped the other 2 stems along with the leaves as you can see above.
For the second example, I created a landscape Thanks card so to that, I started by stamping the largest flower right in the center of the card panel. As you can see, I exchanged the colors so, instead of stamping it in Pink, I stamped in Peach. To keep it simple, I stamped a Yellow flower on the left and a Pink flower on the right.
Because this card was on landscaping form, I had extra space to add more leaves so, I went ahead and stamped the stems first then, the leaves along with an extra small flower which I stamped in Pink to balance the white space out in the left corner. By the way the small flower is also included in the Simple Blossoms Stamp Set.
After finishing the stamping, I trimmed the edges off as usual from both card panels and I set them aside. In the meantime, I created the sentiments for the cards so to do that, I placed a piece of white cardstock inside my stamping tool. Then, I placed over the white cardstock the Thanks sentiment which is part from the set along with a small sentiment that complemented well to create the sentiments for the cards. Once, I had them stamped with black ink, I decided to take a step further so, I clear-heat embossed the sentiments to add shine and dimension.
Looking at both cards side by side, you can see that, I only used one of the sentiments that I stamped on the piece of white cardstock. So, for my portrait card, I foam mounted the card panel to an A2 side folding card then, I foam mounted the sentiment as well as you can see in the lower right corner of the card. As, for the landscaping card, I decided to put aside the sentiment that I had already stamped in the white cardstock so, instead, I stamped the sentiment right over the stamped leaves and stems for a one-layer card look. Even though, I wanted the one-layer look, I still foam mounted the card panel to an A2 size side folding white card base. You know, I needed that dimension look! Finally, to finish both cards off, I adhered a few Yellow jewels here and there from my Essentials: Jewels Mix for add that sparkly look.
With that being said friends, that’s all I have for today. I hope to inspire you to give these cards a try! Below; you’ll find the supply list for the products used on today’s blog post.
