Summer Loving Greeting Cards
Happy Friday Friends! As, I promise yesterday I’m back again sharing with you the second set of cards that I made with the other trio from the WOW! Summer Loving Set. If… for some reason you missed yesterday’s blog post, not worries you can click ⇾ HERE to go back, and check the cards that I made using the first trio from this beautiful and colorful Summery set. With that being said, let’s jump into the post! ↓
For the first example, I created 2 cards out of 1 card panel. So…to begin with, I stated by heat embossing a white card panel with the Turquoise embossing powder from the set. As you can see, this set is different from the regular embossing powders as it creates a very cool effect to any project by adding a little touch of white and metallic silver besides the actual color. So, once the card embossing powder was melted, I ran the card panel through the die-cutting machine along with the For You Dies to die-cut the big YOU out of it. In the meantime, I ran through the die-cutting machine a white card panel along with the Oh Happy Day Shaker Dies to create the frame for one of the cards. Lastly, I ran a piece of white card stock through the die-cutting machine along with the For die from the same For You Dies to complement the for you focal point of the cards. Right after, I used the Confetti Stencil, and I silver heat embossed the confetti with WOW! Metallic Silver Sparkle once I was done melting the powder, I trimmed the edges of the white card panel and I adhered acetate to create an illusion like if it was a shaker card once I adhered the card panel to an A2 size side folding white card base. Finally, after I adhered the card panel to the card with double-sided tape, I adhered the backing of the for to complete the sentiment with liquid glue to the first card.
For the second card from the first example, I adhered the backing of the white frame to an A2 size side folding white card base for a tone on tone look to make the YOU stand out. Once the card panel was adhered to the card panel, I adhered the YOU as well as the for with liquid glue, and to finish the card off, I adhered some clear sequins to add an extra touch of sparkle!
For the second example, I heat embossed a white card panel with the Orange color from the set. Once the powder was melted, I used the card panel in a different way as, I cut it in half so I could die-cut the thanks out it as well as a piece for the card panel. So, to create the card, I stared by adhering a stitched white card panel to an A2 size side folding white card base. To add a little bit of the texture, I also adhered the backing of a dry embossed piece of white card stock that I had from my stash, I hope you’re able to see it underneath the heat embossed panel. Right after, I adhered the backing of the left over piece from the heat embossed panel and. Lastly, as I mentioned earlier, I ran through the die-cutting machine the Big Thanks Wafer Die to die-cut its shadow layer out of white car stock and its top layer out the heat embossed panel. In the meantime, I ran through the die-cutting machine the Botanical Beauty Die to die-cut the leaves die-cutting out of white card stock as you can see in the picture above. Right afterwards, I adhered the leaves die-cutting with liquid glue and I layered and adhered the thanks die-cutting to the card.
For the third example, I heat embossed a white card panel with the pink embossing powder from the set. Once the heat embossing was done, I trimmed the edges of the card panel slightly smaller than a standard A2 card base, and I adhered the backing to a top folding white card base with double-sided tape. As the focal point of the card, I decided to run through the die-cutting machine the Heart Entwined Die to die-cut the hearts out of white card stock, I repeated this step 3X because, I wanted a dimensional die-cutting. Once, I was done die-cutting the heats, I layered the all and I adhered them to the card with liquid glue. Finally, to finish the card off, I stamped and white heat embossed one of the sentiments from the My Favorite Things to Say stamp set with Opaque Bright White Embossing Powder in a piece of black card stock. Once, I was done white heat embossing the sentiment, I trimmed the edges of the black card stock with the paper trimmer and I adhered the sentiment with dimensional foam pieces to the center of the hearts as you can see in the picture above.
Hooray! We are closer to the end of this post. However, I left the last for the best as I really wanted to share with you the card that I made combining the 3 embossing powders from the set. So, to create this card, I heat embossed once again in white card stock each of the color from the set as I previously did. Once, the card panels were heat embossed, I cut them in half and I ran through the die-cutting machine each of the pieces along with the Scallops Border Dies to create the scallops of the card. Right after I had all die-cuttings done, I adhered the backing of the top part of the scallops to a white card panel that I had previously trimmed a bit smaller than a standard size card base. As, you can see, I exchanged the colors by adhering them from the bottom to the top to create a pattern. Lastly, once all scallops were adhered, I trimmed any excess from the card panel, and I adhered the backing of the card panel to a top folding white card base with double-sided tape. To finish the card off, I decided to add to skinny pieces of white ribbon, a label in which I gold heat embossed a sentiment from the My Favorite Things to Say stamp set with Metallic Gold Rich Embossing Powder.
So, that’s all for today friends. I hope you give these designs a try! Also, you can check the video by clicking → HERE to see these cards, and many more created by me and the WOW! Team featuring the WOW! Summer Loving Set. As always, I appreciate the time that you take to read my blog posts down below you’ll find the supply list of the products used for this post.
NOTE: In case you decide to try this trio, you must heat embossed the powder from the bottom otherwise the white and silver powder tiny sparkles that create the cool effect will fly away from you project.
Thank you and happy crafting, your time is valuable.
