Spellbinders August 2019 Write On Large Die of the Month Greeting Cards

Happy Saturday Friends! On today’s blog, I’ll be sharing with you the little cute clipboards that I made with the new August Large Die of the Month by Spellbinders called Write On. Without further ado, please keep on reading this post. ↓

To begin with, I started by white heat embossing two card panel so, I could die-cut the large die that creates the clipboard. To create the pattern, I white heat embossed two pieces of Heavyweight Translucent Vellum using Gerbera Daisy Background Stamp and Opaque Bright White Embossing Powder. Once, I was done stamping and the embossing powder was melted, I ran through the die-cutting machine the largest die from the Write On die set. By the way this die cuts and creates a score line on the top of the card stock as, you can mount the clipboard on an A2 standard size car base. Because, I was using heavyweight vellum I decided to skip that step, and I used the clipboard die-cutting as the card base for today’s examples. So, once I had both clipboard bases, I ran through the die-cutting machine the die elements included in the set to, die-cut some out of white card stock, some pieces out of gold foil card stock, and some out patterned paper. Once, all die-cutting were done I started to layout the designs.

Note: I dried heat embossed the handles of the scissor with a butterfly embossing folder from my stash.

As you can see in the picture above the dies included in the Write On die set create the following elements; Pencils, Pens, Scissors, Paperclips and the main elements for the Clipboard. Isn’t that fun!?? So, for the first little clipboard, I started by layering each of the elements by adhering piece by piece with liquid glue. Then, I rounded the corners of a H 4 1/4’’ X W 3.0’’ piece of grid paper from my stash and I adhered it to the clipboard. Right after, I adhered the pen, pencil, scissor, paperclips to the grid paper some with liquid glue and some with foam mounting tape as, shown in the picture above. Lastly, to finish the clipboard off, I adhered with foam mounting tape two stickers and a little pink heart from my stash to embellish and give a positive vibe note to the clipboard.

For the second clipboard, I adhered a piece of lined paper without rounded the corners this time as I wanted to give it a different look by changing thing here and there as you can see in the picture above. Once the lined paper was adhered, I adhered once again some stickers from my stash, and the pen, pencil and paperclip die-cuttings to create the layout for this example.

Finally, to finish both clipboards off, I cut and folded two little note cards that measured H 4 1/4’’ X W 3.0’’ and I adhered the backing of each of the to the back of each clipboards with double-sided tape so, I could have a space so I could write a note in case I want to gift or mail them to a teacher or friends. Well, that’s all for today crafty friends! I hope that I’ve inspired you to give these designs, and the Spellbinder August Large Die of the Month a try!
