Happy Tuesday, Friends! On today’s blog, I’d like to share with you this set of “Painting & Floral” inspiration cards showcasing the latest Vicky’s Paint Your World Collection for Spellbinders which includes: Painter's Palette Etched Dies and Artful Brush Etched Dies sets. Along with these beautiful sets, I used some left-over flowers that I had from the previous “Marvelous Medallion” FEB-2022 Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month and some die-cutting sprigs from Glimmer Edge Flowers Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set to add the floral bouquet for one of the cards. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step-by-step on how I made them ↓
Therefore, for the first example, I started off by lining up over a large piece of white cardstock the largest die included in Painter's Palette Etched Dies and then, I went ahead to run them through my Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine. Next, I repeated the same step to cut out the same image two more times from white cardstock as well. Thus, as soon as, I’ve finished die-cutting them all, I’ve gone ahead to put them off to the side and then, I proceeded to line up the Paint Blobs dies over some pieces of colored cardstock using my most favorite hues + plain White and Gold.
Lastly, to finish the die-cutting process off, I went ahead to line up the dies that cut out the paint tube and paint brush to cut out their assembling pieces from White, Gold, Light Pink, Light Warm Gray, and Glitter cardstock. Moving on, right after that I’ve got finished die-cutting all pieces I’ve gone ahead to get the card assembling started. So, to do that first, I went ahead to place over my Scoring Board one of the large paint palette die-cutting shapes to create a hinge for the card could open and close by getting a scoring line at 1/2 of an inch, let’s say from the very edge from the finger placement on the paint palette towards inwards. Then, after getting the scoring line marked, I went ahead to get it folded over and then, I added some liquid glue to to get another of the die-cutting paint palette adhered to it, to create the shaped paint palette card base.
Lastly, after creating the shaped card base, I went ahead to put it off to the side to create the color palette over the last paint palette die-cutting piece using the die-cutting paint blobs that I had previously cut out using the dies included in the die set. By the way, I used square foam adhesives to add dimension to them. Then, I went ahead to assemble the paint tube and the paint brush and before I’ve got them mounted over the paint palette, I went ahead to place the paint palette inside my MISTI Stamp Tool to get a sentiment stamped with VersaMark Ink Pad and then, to get it heat embossed using Metallic Embossing Powder- Gilded and Wow Embossing Powder Dual Speed Heat Tool. By the way, for the cards sentiments, I used a previous Spellbinder’s stamp with a painting related theme. However, I’d like to mention that Vicky’s Paint Your World Collection includes a fabulous stamp set which I didn’t have at the time that I mad these card. Having that said, to finish the card off, I went ahead to get the layered paint palette over its card base and then, I’ve got mounted the paint tube along with the paint brush (as shown in the image above.)
To make the second example, I used Artful Brush Etched Dies to create two die-cutting paint brushes. So, to do that, I went ahead to line up the dies included in the set to cut out the elements from them using: Light Gray for the brushes handles. Light Pink and Gold cardstock for the Paint Blob and Drips. Glitter cardstock for the Brush Head and Gold cardstock for the Bristles.
The assembling for the paint brushes it’s pretty straight forward however, to add dimension I decided to cut out the bristles four times from gold cardstock. Then, 2 times the paint blob: once from light Pink cardstock and once from Gold cardstock just, to add a slightly gold shadow to the paint blob. Having that said, as soon as I’ve had finished the assembling for the paint brushes, I went ahead to put them off to the side.
Meanwhile, I went ahead to trim off 1/4 of an inch from the edges of an A2 size white card panel and then, I’ve got mounted its backing with craft foam adhesive to add dimension to an A2 top folding white card base. Next, I went ahead to mount the paint brushes over the card (as shown in the image above.) And then, I proceeded to get them embellished with the pre-made flowers and leaves that I had left over from the previous project that I mentioned at the beginning of the post. Lastly, I’ve glued down here and there the paint drips and then, I finished the card off by mounting the card sentiment. A card sentiment, that I created over a piece of white cardstock using one of the card sentiments included in the same stamp set that I used for the previous example.
Finally, to add an extra touch of sparkle, I went ahead to use my Jewels Picker to glue down here and there on both cards some of the Rhinestones Sunlight Gold. And that’s how both card look side by side after adding the jewels, sentiments and get them embellished.
