Happy Sunday, Friends! On today’s blog, I’ll be sharing with you a quick set of dimensional & colorful “Christmas” cards and matching envelopes made using Die Cut Shapes, Chipboard Stickers, Sequins, Die, Stamp and the Patterned Paper Pad included in the re-released NOV-2019 “Christmas Wishes” card kit by Spellbinders. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step by step on how I’ve created them ↓
As per usual with every Spellbinders card kit, I started by selecting the die cut shapes and patterned paper sheets that I was going to use to create each card so therefore, I trimmed off the edges from one of the patterned papers and then, I went ahead to get the backing of it adhere to one of the textured card bases included in the kit using the double-sided tape which is also included in the kit.
Once, I had the card base ready I started the layering so therefore, I’ve gone ahead to trim off a thin strip of gold cardstock and I’ve adhered it to the center of the card. Next, I’ve mounted one of the die cut shapes wreaths with craft foam and double-sided tape to add a bit of dimension and then, I’ve gone ahead to glued down with liquid glue right in the center of the wreath one of the foiled die cut shapes circles using it as the sentiment for the card. Lastly, I’ve finished the card by adhering some of the gems included in the kit and last but not least, I’ve gone ahead to make the matching envelope using one of the envelopes included in kit and a patterned paper as a liner or insert. You can click → HERE to read the instructions on how I've gotten it done by reading the step-by-step from my June’s 2020 blog post.
For the second example, I made a landscape card so therefore, I’ve gone ahead to trim off the edges from one of the patterned papers and I’ve gotten it adhered with double-sided tape to on of the textured card bases. Next, same as the previous example, I’ve also adhered a thin strip of gold cardstock to break down a bit the bold navy color from the background.
Therefore, once I had the card base ready, I went ahead to mount with liquid glue and square adhesives a Holiday cluster which I’ve had previously created with a few die cut shapes. Lastly, I’ve mounted one of the die cut sentiments included in the pack and finally, I’ve finished the card by adhering here and there some gems and by making its matching envelope.
For the third example, I’ve used the ornament die from the die set included in the kit so therefore, I’ve gone ahead to line the top layer die over a piece of gold cardstock and once I’ve had them line up, I’ve gone ahead to run them through my Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine. Thus, after I’ve had finished die-cutting the first layer I’ve gone ahead to repeat the same step 3 more times but, 1 time using the larger top layer die. Then, after having that step done, I’ve gone ahead to die-cut the strings and the ornament caps from the same gold cardstock.
Then right after that I’ve had finished the die-cutting for the top layers, I’ve gone head to die-cut the solid layers out of the red color cardstock included in the kit. With that said, after I’ve done that step, I’ve stacked the top and solid layers and I’ve gone ahead to set them aside. Meanwhile, I’ve gone ahead to trim off the edges from one of the patterned papers and then, I’ve gotten it adhere with double-sided tape to one of the card bases in a landscape form. Lastly, I’ve gotten each of the ornaments adhere to the card (as shown in the image above) and to finish the card off, I’ve mounted one of die cut shapes as the sentiment and as embellishments, I’ve gone ahead to glue down some die cut shape stars.
For the fourth and last example, I’ve also used the second die included in the set which die-cut the 3 layers that create a poinsettia so therefore, I’ve gone ahead to run each die 3 times to die-cut the layers out of the burgundy color cardstock included in the kit. Thus, after I’ve had finished die-cutting them, I’ve gone ahead to glue them down and then I’ve gone ahead to set them aside.
Moving on, I’ve gone ahead to trim off the edges from one of the card panel and once I’ve that step done, I’ve gone ahead to adhere it with double-sided tape to one of the card bases once again in a landscape form. Next, I’ve glued down a strip of gold cardstock and last but not least, I’ve glued down each of the very dimensional poinsettias on the left side of the card creating a cluster (as you can see in the image above) Finally to finish the card off, I’ve mounted a sentiment which, I’ve had previously gold heat embossed on a piece of the same color cardstock using one of the stamp images from the stamp set included in the kit as well as heat embossing ink and gold heat embossing powder.
Same as the previous example I’ve also made the matching envelope and I’ve also embellished the card by adhering some gems and tiny gold jewels which I’ve glue down in the center of each poinsettia as well as their die-cut center pieces which I’ve had previously die-cut using the center die and gold cardstock.
