Spellbinders OCT-2021 DOML┃Inspiration Card

Happy Sunday, Friends! On today’s blog, I’d like to share with you a girly, yet extra dimensional and interactive “Holiday” inspiration card made showcasing the latest, OCTOBER-2021 “Santa’s Fireplace” Large Die of the Month Club Kit by Spellbinders. Along with it, I’ve also used as well a combination of OCTOBER-2021 “Holiday Hauls” Small Die of the Month Club Kit and the dies including in All Aboard Christmas Kit 2021 Limited Edition to create the small Christmas gifts. Also, Plaid Company Embossing Folder to create the white-on-white texture for the frontal card panel. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step-by-step on how I made it ↓

Therefore, this month’s Large Die of the Month Club Kit includes 27 cutting dies that die cut the fireplace and its elements + the cute and interactive Santa’s swinging legs which are perfect to create Christmas cards. Thus, I went ahead to line up the largest die for the fireplace over a piece of white cardstock, and then I went ahead to run them through my Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine.

Next, I went ahead to line up the rest of dies to get the die-cutting pieces done out of light pink cardstock for the fireplace’s back pieces and front trim bases. Then, I went ahead to line up the fireplace’s die base along with one of the inserts over a large piece of white cardstock and then, I ran them through the die cut machine.

Thus, right after that I’ve got finished die-cutting the pieces for the fireplace, I went glue down the back pieces along with its trim bases and base. So, to make the sentiment to stand out after poking out the die-cutting letter created from the insert die, I went ahead to glue down a strip of glitter cardstock, and once I’ve got that done, I’ve gone ahead to put it off to the side to get started with the rest of the die-cutting pieces. To die cut the greenery, I used a yellow green and leafy green hues. For the Christmas’s stockings, I used a darker pink hue. For the Christmas gifts, I used a combination of light and pink hues along with the dies including in this month’s Small Die of the Month Club Kit and All Aboard Christmas Kit 2021 Limited Edition.

Moving on, for Santa’s outfit I kept it simple by getting it die cut out white and red hues. Then, for his boots, I went ahead to use black glitter cardstock. Then, for the fire I used white cardstock which right afterwards that I’ve gotten finished the die-cutting, I got them inked up using yellow and orange hues. Lastly, for the decorative fireplace’s screen, I used the same glittery black cardstock that used for Santa’s boots.

Having that said, I went ahead to start the card assembling by getting glue down the pieces together using Bearly Art Precision Craft Glue. Once, I’ve gotten all pieces assembled, I went ahead to add texture to an A2 size white card panel using Plaid Company Embossing Folder. Thus, as soon as I’ve gotten finished adding the texture to the card panel, I went ahead to adhere the backing of it with double-sided adhesive to an A2 size top folding white card base. Then, I went ahead to use two square foam adhesives to add dimension and to mount Santa’s swinging legs to the back of the fireplace. Once, I had that step completed, I went ahead to add craft foam adhesive to the backing of the fireplace and them, I’ve gotten it mounted over the lower side of the card base.

As you can see in the image above, Santa’s legs swing side to side, thus after having that step completed, I went ahead to get the embellishment done. So, to do that first, I layered the garland to the fireplace and then, I’ve got glued down the small poinsettias to it along with some small gold jewels to make the appearance of gold berries. Next, I hung up the Christmas stockings and then, I got mounted the Christmas gifts over the fireplace. Lastly, I’ve got glued down the fire flames and logs along with the fireplace decorative screen.
