Hello and Welcome! Today, I’m joining Spellbinders for their November 2021 Clubs Kit Inspiration Blog Hop! Therefore, throughout the hop, you’ll find amazing and inspiring projects created by many talented designers showcasing this month’s Club Kits. Thus, to get you inspired, I will be sharing a trifold “Holiday” slimline inspiration card showcasing this month’s Large Die of the Month. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step-by-step for how I made it ↓
To begin with, this month’s Large Die of the Month Club Kit includes 1 Curvy Christmas Foliage Strip and 3 decorative Curvy Borders + 8 individual dies that cut the smaller foliage to add dimension to the curvy foliage border. Therefore, I started off by lining up the curvy Christmas Foliage Strip die over a large piece of white cardstock and then, I went ahead to run them through my Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine. In the same way, I repeated the same steps but this time to cut it out from gold cardstock.
Next, I went ahead to line up over a slimline size white card panel one of the decorative curvy borders and then, I ran them through the die cut machine. This die only cut out the inner decorative curvy design thus, to die cut out the edge, I went ahead to use one of the dies including in April’s 2021 Large Die of the Month as this basically is designed in the same way as this month’s, but with a holiday touch. So, once I’ve got finished cutting out the edge of the slimline panel, I went ahead to layer the die-cutting Christmas foliage over the gold to create a gold shadow and then, I’ve got them glue down over the top edge of the panel following its own design.
Moving on, after getting the decorative foliage gluing down over the slimline card panel, I went ahead to set it off aside to create the trifold card base, so to do that, I’ve adhered down the backing of one slimline white card bases inside of a second slimline card base and then, I cut out the front flap from one of them using the same die I used to cut out the decorative edge ( as you can see in the left side of the image above.) Having that being said, after making the card base, I went ahead to get the card assembling started.
As for the card assembling, I went ahead to create a portrait design, so I’ve got the decorative panel glue it down over the front flap of the card and then, I’ve got gluing down over it some colored foliage to add a pop of color and a dimensional look to it. Foliage, which I created using the individual dies including in the kit, as for the colors, I used gold cardstock and white cardstock which I colored myself using Glow, Quince, Fig and Sage inks Pigment Craft Co. Lastly, to finish the card off I went ahead to add the card sentiment over the right side of the card. Sentiment, which I’ve had previously hot foil stamped and die cut out of white cardstock. For the sentiment, I used one of the hot foil plates including in Yana's Christmas Sentiments Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set along with a piece of Glimmer Hot Foil Roll - Polished Brass and of course my Glimmer Hot Foil System Platform + Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine for the hot foil stamping process.
As final touches, I went ahead to glue down here and there some Crystal Confetti along with tiny gold jewels to add an extra pop of shine to the card. With that being said friends, I hope you’ve enjoyed reading the step-by-step for how I made this trifold “Holiday” slimline inspiration card showcasing this month’s Large Die of the Month Club.
