Spellbinders NOV-2020 Card Kit of the Month┃Inspiration Cards

Happy Monday, Friends! On today’s blog, I’ll be sharing with you a set of dimensional & colorful “Christmas” cards made using Die Cut Shapes, Chipboard Stickers, Sequins, Die, Stamp and the Patterned Paper Pad included in NOV-2020 “Merry Wishes” Card Kit of the Month by Spellbinders. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step by step for how I’ve made them ↓

As per usual with every Spellbinders Card Kit of the Month, I started by selecting the die cut shapes and patterned paper sheets that I was going to use to create each card so therefore, I trimmed the edges off from one of the patterned papers a bit smaller than the card base, and I adhered the backing of it down with the double-sided tape (included in the kit) to one of the A2 textured card bases which is also included in the kit.

Once the card panel was adhered to the card base, I’ve gone ahead to use a pair of small scissors to fussy cut the big sentiment out one of the 4X3 journaling card included in the kit.

Thus, after I’ve had finished fussy cutting the sentiment, I’ve gone ahead to create 2 small floral cluster using some of the die cut shapes and once I’ve had that step done, I’ve gone ahead to mount each of them with craft foam tape (as shown in the image above) Lastly, I’ve also mount the big sentiment which I’ve had fussy cut earlier using craft foam tape and then, to finish the card off, I’ve gone ahead to glue down some of the gold sequins which by the way are included in the kit.

For the second card, I’ve gone ahead to trim the edges off from one of the patterned papers and then, I’ve gotten it adhere to the card base using the double-sided tape included in the kit.

Next, I’ve adhered down on the upper right corner of the card one of the die cut shapes to use it as the sentiment and then, I’ve glued down some of the ornament die cut shapes while I’ve mounted others with square dimensional adhesives on the lower left side of the card to add a bit of dimension in between them. Last but not least to finish the card off, I’ve gone ahead to glue down some of the sequins to compliment the shine from the foiled ornaments.

For the third example, I’ve made a landscape card so therefore, I’ve gone ahead to trim one of the patterned papers and then, I’ve gone ahead to adhere the backing of it to one of the card bases. Next, I’ve gone ahead to draw with a pencil a wiggled line over a piece of Gray cardstock which is also included in the kit simulating a hill. However, after I’ve had drawn the line and fussy cut the simulated hill using a small pair of scissors I realized that the cardstock was a bit vibrant so, I’ve decided to toned down using Unicorn Pigment Ink and an ink blending brush.

Thus, after I’ve had finish the ink blending to tone down the simulated hill, I’ve gone ahead to create a whimsical winter scene by adhering some of the die cut shapes (as shown in the image above). Lastly, I’ve proceeded to mount with dimensional square adhesives 2 die cut shapes creating that way the sentiment for the card then, as a finishing touch, I’ve gone ahead to glue down here and there with liquid glue some sequins to add an extra touch of shine.

For the fourth example, I’ve made a mini village so therefore, I’ve create some hill in the same way as I did for the previous example but, instead on using Gray cardstock I’ve used the Black cardstock which is also included in the kit. Thus, to add glow I’ve used once again Unicorn Pigment Ink and an ink blending brush.

Moving on, after I’ve had finished creating the hills, I’ve gone ahead to adhere them with double-sided tape to a slightly smaller black card panel which right after that, I’ve gone ahead to layer it over to a slightly larger gold card panel to add a thin gold frame. Lastly, I’ve gone ahead to stamp with embossing ink one of the sentiments included in the stamp set also included in the kit and once I’ve had it stamped, I’ve gone ahead to white heated emboss it white embossing powder. Finally, to finish the card off, I’ve gone ahead to adhere some of the die cut shapes to create the full scene along with some puffy stars adding that way an extra touch of shine.

For the fifth example, I’ve gathered together all gift die cut shapes and then I’ve gone ahead to set them off to the side while I’ve gone ahead to trim the edges off from one of the patterned papers which right afterwards, I’ve gotten it adhere with double-sided tape to one of the white card bases.

Therefore, after I’ve had finished adhering the card panel to the card base, I’ve gone ahead to mount each little gift (as shown in the image above) and, to finish the card off, I’ve gone ahead to mount as well one die cut shape to complement the pattern as well using it as the sentiment for the card. Then, as a finishing touch, I’ve also gone ahead to glue down with liquid glue some of the gold sequins complementing that way the gold foiling from each little gift and patterned paper.

For the sixth example, I’ve gone ahead to make another landscape form card so therefore, I’ve trimmed off the edges from one of the patterned papers and then, I’ve gone ahead to adhere the backing of it with double-sided tape to one of the textured white card bases.

Yasmin-Diaz-Spellbinders-NOV-2020-KOM-14.jpeg

Next, I’ve glued down some of the die cut shapes while I’ve mounted others creating that way with them not only the focal point but, also the sentiment for the card panel. Then, to finish the card off, I’ve also gone ahead to glue down with liquid glue some of the gold sequins as well as a little die-cut bow which I’ve had die-cut it using the small die included in the die set which by the way is also included in the kit.

Yasmin-Diaz-Spellbinders-NOV-2020-KOM-15.jpeg

Now, that I’ve had mentioned the die set included in the kit, you’ll see how cute that is as die-cut a lamp post and also includes dies to embellish it with a cute little wreath, a bow and a Noel die word which I’ve didn’t use in any of today’s example but, I wanted to mention it as it also adds a cute touch too the small wreath.

Yasmin-Diaz-Spellbinders-NOV-2020-KOM-16.jpeg

So therefore, to make this card, I’ve gone ahead to line up the dies over different pieces of color cardstock and once I’ve had them line up, I’ve gone ahead to run them thru my Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine. Thus, after I’ve had finished die-cutting each piece, I’ve gone ahead to assemble the lamp post and then I’ve gone ahead to set it off to the side while I’ve gone ahead to trim the edges off from one of the patterned papers. With that said, after I’ve trimmed the edges off from the card panel, I’ve gone ahead to adhere it with double-sided tape to one of the textured card bases and then, I’ve gone ahead to glue down with liquid glue the lamp post as well as the embellishments which, I’ve had also die-cut using the die set. Finally, to finish the card off, I’ve gone ahead to adhere each puffy letter to create the sentiment and last but not least, I’ve gone ahead to glue down some sequins to add an extra pop of gold touch.

Yasmin-Diaz-Spellbinders-NOV-2020-KOM-17.jpeg

For the eighth and last example, I’ve gone ahead to create a starry sky using the stamp set included in the kit so therefore, I’ve gone ahead to ink up a white card panel using the following Distress Inks; Mustard Seed, Wild Honey, Carved Pumpkin, Festive Berries, Seedless Preserve and a little touch of Black Soot. With that said, after I’ve finished the ink blending , I’ve gone ahead to place the ink blended card panel inside my MISTI Stamping Tool. Once, I’ve had it onto place, I’ve gone ahead to line up the pine trees image over it and then, I’ve gone ahead to get the image stamp with Versafine Onyx Black Ink 3X for a better and deeper impression.

Yasmin-Diaz-Spellbinders-NOV-2020-KOM-18.jpeg

At first, I’ve thought about stamping the pine trees image only once but, I ended up stamping it twice (as shown in the image above) to resemble the appearance of a lake if you will so, after I’ve finished stamping the second pine trees image, I’ve gone ahead to remove the stamp image from the stamping tool and I’ve gone ahead to line up one of the sentiments from the stamp set on the upper side of the card panel. Therefore, once I’ve had it line up, I’ve gone ahead to get the sentiment stamp with embossing ink and last but not least, after I’ve had finishing stamp it, I’ve gone ahead to get it white heat embossed. Finally, after I’ve had finished the heat embossing, I’ve gone ahead to add white splatters and then, I’ve gone ahead to trim the edges off from the card panel and to finish the card off, I’ve gone ahead to adhere the card panel to one of the textured card bases as well as some embellishments and gold sequins.
