Spellbinders MAR20-DOML┃Easter Basket

Happy Easter, Friends! Today, I’d like to share with you how I created this “Easter Basket” with the MAR-2020 “Basket Full of Bunnies” Large Die of the Month by Spellbinders. So, without further ado, let’s jump to the step by step on how I made it ↓

To begin with, I started by running through my Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine the Basket die to die-cut the front and back panels of it out of white cardstock. Then, I ran through the die-cutting machine the tab die to die-cut it 3X out of white cardstock.

Right after, to keep going with the die-cutting, I ran through the die-cutting machine the large and small bunny dies to die-cut them out of white cardstock too.

Then, I ran through the die-cutting machine the small and large flower to die-cut them out of;
- Watermelon Fusion Cardstock
- Bubble Gum Cardstock
- Sweet Berry Cardstock

And… last but not least, I ran through the die-cutting machine the small and large round sprig as well as the small and large pointed sprig to die-cut them out of;
- Lemon Grass Cardstock
- Limeade Splash Cardstock
- Citrine Cardstock

Therefore, after all die-cutting pieces were done, I set them aside while I stampeded and gold heat embossed a sentiment on a piece of white cardstock, as well as the tied bow. So, after heat embossing and fussy cutting the sentiment and tied bow with a very sharped scissors, I started the assembling. To assemble the basket, I folded the scored line from the tabs, and I adhered the to the back and front to the basket with 1/8’’ double sided tape. Then, I glued down the flowers and sprigs leaving a space in the center so I could place the bunnies in front of the basket.

In the image above, you can see that I also embellished with the flowers and prigs the back of the basket for a full 3D effect. This die is so versatile because, you also can run the basket die through the die-cutting machine without the embossed and partial die-cutting die to die-cut a solid piece to cover the see-through basket. I wanted to mention in case you don’t like the see-through look. Lastly, after assembling the basket, I finished it up the embellishing by gluing down the tied bow with liquid glue and mounting the sentiment with square adhesives for dimension.

To finish the “Easter Basket” off, I assembled the bunnies and I added a bit of shadowing to them by inking the edges up with Antique Linen Distress Oxide. Then, I poked out his partial die-cutting legs and I inserted them to the basket (as shown above) As finishing touch, I glue down jewels to the center of the flowers with liquid glue, and I added Glossy Accent to their Black eyes and Pink noses for an extra shiny dimensional look. With that being said, I hope you’ve enjoyed reading the step by step on how I’ve created today’s “Easter Basket” with the MAR-2020 “Basket Full of Bunnies” Large Die of the Month by Spellbinders.
