Spellbinders KOM AUG-2022┃Inspiration Cards

Happy Wednesday, Friends! On today’s blog, I’d like to share with you a set of inspiration cards with a “Dimensional & Butterfly” look using: "Butterfly Sparkle" Cardmaking Club of the Month by Spellbinders. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step by step on how I made them ↓

Therefore, for the first example first, I used the delicate frame die included to die cut it out from Gold cardstock. So, to do that, I went ahead to line up the die over the small piece of the Gold cardstock and then, I went ahead to run them through my Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine. Second, I went ahead to line up the same die over a piece of White cardstock and then, I ran them through the die cut machine. And then, I repeated the last step two more times to add dimension to the frame.

Next, after getting the frame cut out and I had layered over the die-cutting pieces to make it dimensional, I went ahead to put it aside to get the butterflies, sentiment and stars cut out from Gold and White cardstock. Once, I had finished the die-cutting pieces, I proceeded to trim a small front card panel from one of the patterned paper sheets included in the paper pad and then, I got its backing adhered to one of the textured card bases. Soon after that I had gotten adhered the front card panel to the card base, I went ahead to finish the card off by get the butterflies, stars and the sentiment gluing down, as shown in the image above. Finally, as a finishing touch, I also went ahead to glue down here and there some of the sequins to add the card an extra touch of shine!

For the second example, I went ahead to make a tri-fold card base with an opening window so to make it first, I went ahead to trim down 1/8 of an inch from one of the textured card bases and then, I went ahead to turn over that card base with the opening to the left. Second, I went ahead to open up another of the textured card base and then, I got the bottom flap of the smaller card base adhered over the bottom flap of the open up card base.

Therefore, after putting together the tri-fold card base, I went ahead to use the second-to-last large die included in Nestabilities Standard Circles LG Etched Dies to cut out the circle window on the front flap of the card base. Once, I had finished adding the circle window, I went ahead to get the inner card flap embellished using one of the patterned paper sheets included in the paper pad along with one of the project life card included in the die cut shapes pack.

Having that said, as soon as, I had finished getting the inner flap embellished, I went ahead to get the front flap embellished so, to do that, I went ahead to use the larger die included in the same circle die set to get another circle window cut out but this time I did it on one of the patterned paper sheet from the paper pad. Once, I had finished cutting the circle out from it, I went ahead to get the paper sheet trim off a little smaller than the card base and then, I proceeded to get its backing adhered to the card base.

Lastly, I went ahead to get the circle window embellished using some of the layered butterfly stickers and some of the foiled die cut shapes to make it extra dimensional; just like, you can see in the image above.

Here is an image for how the card looks like from a top view when it’s open. Also, you can see how the butterfly wings pop out from the window adding extra dimension to the card.

Finally, after sharing different views for how the card looks like, I went ahead to use one of the die cut shapes to compliment the card sentiment and then, I got the card finish off by gluing down here and there some of the sequins to add it a touch of sparkle.

For the last example, I made a simpler card yet with a little extra dimension. So, to make it, I use one of the foiled paper sheets to cut out the card background and then, I got its backing adhered to one of the textured card bases.

Then, to finish the card off, I used the leftover White die-cutting circle along with another Gold die-cutting circle and one of the die cut shapes with a circle shape, to create a layered and dimensional focal point. Then, I decided to skip any extra embellishments to leave the beautiful foil design shine for itself.

And, with that being said friends, I hope you’ve enjoyed reading the step-by-step for how I’ve made this set of inspiration cards with a “Dimensional & Butterfly” look using: "Butterfly Sparkle" Cardmaking Club of the Month by Spellbinders.
