Happy Friday, Friends! On today’s blog I’d like to share with you a set of inspiration cards with an extra “Glimmering & Butterfly” look made using “Stitched Glimmer Butterflies” MAY-2022 Glimmer Hot Foil Kit Of The Month Club by Spellbinders. Along with this month’s glimmer hot foil kit, I used Embossing Folder of the Month Club to add texture to the front card panels as well. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step-by-step for how I made them ↓
Therefore, this month’s Glimmer Hot Foil Kit Of The Month Club includes 10 Glimmer Hot Foil Plates. And 19 coordinating dies + One Roll of Foil. Thus, as per usual with every glimmer hot foil kit, I started off by setting up my Glimmer Hot Foil System Platform and Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine over my Crafter's Essential Cutting and Alignment Mat. And, once I had that step completed, I went ahead to turn on the glimmer hot foil platform.
However, while my platform was heating up, I went ahead to do the die-cutting process for the detailed butterfly wings. This month’s glimmer kit includes dies that cut out solid pieces and dies that add up detailed pieces to the butterfly wings. Therefore, I went ahead to cut out the detailed pieces for the butterflies from white cardstock and then, I added the hot foil stamping touches to them.
Thus, for the hot foil stamping touches, I went ahead to use pieces of Glimmer Hot Foil Roll - Polished Brass and then, I used the same color foil roll to get the card sentiments hot foil stamped as well over pieces of white cardstock. Having that said, after getting the hot foil stamping process done, I went ahead to use the dies that cut out the butterflies bodies to cut them out from gold cardstock and then, I used the coordinating die for the hot foil stamped sentiment as well.
Once, I had finished die-cutting the pieces and card sentiment, I went ahead to add texture to an A2 size front white card panel using this month’s Embossing Folder of the Month Club and then, I went ahead to get 1/4 of an inch trim down from each side using my Paper Trimmer. Next, I proceeded to get the backing of the textured front card panel adhered to an A2 top folding white card base and then, to finish the card off, I got the front of the card embellished with two of the detailed and dimensional butterflies and its sentiment.
In the images above, you can see how the side profile of one of the butterflies looks like without any hot foil stamping plus with a different die-cutting detailed touch and the hand-stitching details.
Also, on the images above you can see how the full butterfly looks like over a card with the hand-stitching touch plus a little extra pop of color.
Finally, as finishing touches, I went ahead to add a pop of sparkle to each card so, to do that, I used my Jewels Picker to glue down here and there with Bearly Art Precision Craft Glue some of my most favorite Rhinestones Sunlight Gold. And, with that being said, I hope you’ve enjoyed reading the step-by-step for how I’ve made this set of inspiration cards with an extra “Glimmering & Butterfly” look using “Stitched Glimmer Butterflies” MAY-2022 Glimmer Hot Foil Kit Of The Month Club by Spellbinders.
