Spellbinders DOM-OCT19 Home for Holidays Greeting Card
Hey there, happy Tuesday! It’s the first day of the month and you know what that means, yaaass! The new October 2019 Small Die of the Month by Spellbinders called Home for the Holidays it’s here. So, on today’s blog I’d like to share with you how I’ve made this Holiday greeting card. With that being said, please keep on reading the post. ↓
First of all, I’m sure you’ll love this die as, the October’s Home for the Holidays die set not just create the beautiful image of a sweet girl holding a Gift Box but, also has elements to create a Pie and a Christmas Tree possibilities are endless depending on what she’s holding I’d say. As, for today’s example; as you can see in the picture above, she’s holding a gift which represent that, she’s getting ready to send some holiday greetings… so, to create this card, I started by running through the die-cutting machine an A2 size white card panel along with one of Fancy Lattice Etched Dies. Once, I was done die-cutting the card panel, I adhered the backing of it to, another A2 size plain white card panel… and right after when both card panel were adhered together, I trimmed the edges of them a bit smaller than a standard size card base. Lastly, to add a bit of more texture to the card, I wrapped around 3X a piece of Ivory Burlap String which, I finished with a tied bow as usual on one of the sides of the card panel as, you can see in the picture above.
As for the girl, I ran through the die-cutting machine the dies that creates the dress and apron as, well as the hair, shoes and skin. The patterned papers that, I used for the dress, shoes and apron were from the September’s card kit patterned paper pad. To create the flower on her hair I used; the little flower die included in the September’s Large Die of the Month. As for her skin I used; Barely There Card Stock along with E11 and E13 because, I wanted to add a bit of shadows to her skin. Last but certainly not least I used; brown card stock from my stash to die-cut her hair and Kraft card stock along with a tiny piece of white card stock to die-cut the gift. Right afterwards, when all the die-cutting pieces were die-cut out of the card stock, I put together every single piece and I adhered them all with liquid glue creating that way the girl and the gift box.
Finally, to finish the card off I adhered the backing of the card panel to an A2 top folding Kraft base with double-sided tape. By the way, the die-set includes three little dies that, create three words that says See You Soon but, I skipped them. Instead, I decided to gold heat embossed the Happy Holidays sentiment using; two different sentiments from the September’s card kit stamp set. As, a final touch I added lot of shimmer and I adhered clear sequins here and there for a shiny/sparkly look. With that being said friends, that’s all I have for today, I hope you were inspired with the card that; I had shared today.
