Spellbinders DOM-NOV19 Kaleidoscope Snowflake Greeting Cards

Happy Friday Friends! It’s the first day of the month and you know what that means…The new November 2019 Small Die of the Month by Spellbinders called Kaleidoscope Snowflake it’s here YAY!!! So… on today’s blog, I’d like to share with you how I’ve made these two Holiday greeting cards. With that being said, please keep on reading the post. ↓

To begin with, I started by running through the die-cutting machine a Light Blue Card Panel along with the Swiss Dots Embossing Folder because, I wanted to add texture to the card panel. Right after the dry embossing step, I trimmed the edges slightly smaller than an A2 size card base and I adhered the backing of the card panel to a top folding white card base with foam mounting tape. Once, the card base step was done, I set it aside. In the meantime, I ran through the die-cutting machine the Bottom, Middle and Top section dies from the November 2019 Small Die of the Month along with pieces of heavy-weight white card stock and, I cut each of them 5X to create the large Snowflake. Also, I die-cut the accent die which, is included in the set 5X out of white card stock. Lastly, after the die-cutting step, I assembled all die-cutting together and I added a bit of sparkle by heat embossing the tips of the center pieces with Embossing Ink and Metallic Gold Sparkle soon after the heat embossing…I adhered the center of each assembled layers to the card creating that way the large Snowflake as, you can see in the picture above. To finish the card off, I gold heat embossed a sentiment on a strip of white card stock and, I adhered it to the center of the Snowflake with foam mounting tape to add a bit of dimension.

For the second card, I ran through the die-cutting machine the Small, Medium and Large Snowflake die which by the way are also included in the set to, die-cut them out of white card stock. As, you can see, I die-cut lots of them because, I wanted to create my own background for this card. So, right after the die-cutting step, I adhered the backing of each of the snowflakes to an A2 Light Blue color card panel with spray adhesive. Once, I was done adhering the snowflakes, I let them dry for a few seconds before, I trimmed the edges from the card panel. Soon after that, I cut and adhered a piece of Translucent Vellum to mute a bit the background so, after the vellum, I also wrapped around a few times a big piece of Metallic Embroidered Thread because, I wanted to add a gold accent to the background. Lastly, I adhered the backing of the card panel to a top folding white card base with foam mounting tape and to finish it off, I assembled a snowflake by layering together the small, medium and large die-cuttings from the snowflake which right after I adhered it to the center of the card as well as, the sentiment which, I gold heat embossed on a small strip of the same color card stock that, I used for the background.

Finally, as a finishing touch, I added lots of sparkle to the cards so, for the sparkle touch; I added lots of shimmer to the small snowflake on the second card by covering the entire snowflake with Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Pen as well as Jewels Mix which I adhered here and there on both cards.
With that being said friends, I hope you were inspired with the cards that; I had shared today. Down below you’ll find important information about each of the Spellbinders Clubs as well as the full supply list for the products used on today’s blog post.
