Spellbinders DOM-MAY20┃Stacked Decorative Edges Inspiration Cards

Happy Wednesday, Friends! On today’s blog, I’d like to share with you these 2 very decorative “Thanks you and From Me to You” cards that, I’ve created with MAY-2020 “Stacked Decorative Edges” Small Die of the Month by Spellbinders. So, without further ado let’s jump to the step by step on how I made them ↓

This month the kit includes 8 cutting dies therefore, I started by lining up the Pointy Edge die over the bottom edge of a white card panel and I ran it through my Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine then, I removed the die and I lined it up on the other edge and I repeated the same step. Once, I’ve got both detailed edges on the card panel, I mounted the card panel with craft foam and double-sided tape to an A2 top folding white card base.

Next, I set the card base aside and I moved on to create the second die-cutting piece. So, to do that I lined up the Latice Edge die over a white card panel that measured 4-1/4’’ X 4-1/4’’ but, instead of lining it up on the edge as I did for the first panel this time I left 1 inch apart. So, once the die was secured in place, I ran them through the die-cutting machine and I repeated the same step for the other side but, leaving 3/4’’ of an inch in between each side.

Lastly, I ran through the die-cutting machine the Thank You Edge die to die-cut it out of Gold cardstock. Right after, that I’ve gotten the pieces done I started the assembling for the card. Therefore, I adhered down with doubled-sided tape to the card base a gold panel that measured 4-3/8’’ the gold touch made the pointy edges pop as they were getting lost with too much white. So, after I had the gold panel adhered, I stacked the white detailed panel and an alcohol inked card panel that I had on my stash once, they were adhered together, I mounted them to the card base with foam mounting tape to add dimension. Finally, to add even more dimension I glued down the gold Thank You die-cutting over a piece of white cardstock and last but not least I mounted the sentiment which in this case was the Thank You die-cutting right in the center of the card.

For the second example, I trimmed down (2) white card panels to W 4.0’’ X 5-1/4’’ so, after I got them trimmed down, I set one aside and I lined up over the other the Latice Edge die (6) times to create the pattern for the card panel, and to give you an exact measurements, I left 1/8 of an inch between each cut.

Once, I’ve got the pattern created over the first card panel I set it aside, and I lined up the Scallop Edge die from the set to one side of the second white card panel. Therefore, after I had the first die-cutting edge, I lined up the die to the other side and I ran once again the panel along with the die through the die-cutting machine.

Lastly, to assembling the card, I glued down with liquid glue the backing of the first detailed card panel to an alcohol inked card panel. Then, I adhered the detailed stacked panel with double-sided tape to the scallop edged panel, and last but not least I mounted the card panel with craft foam and double-sided tape to an A2 top folding white card base. Finally, to finish the card off, I mounted with foam mounting tape a die cut shape and a sentiment that I’ve got previously foiled on a piece of white cardstock.

To finish both cards off, I embellished them up by gluing down here and there with liquid glue gold jewels as well as a tied bow that I made out of metallic gold thread for an extra touch of shine.
