Spellbinders DEC-2021 DOM┃Inspiration Card

Happy Thursday, Friends! On today’s blog, I’d like to share with you a “See-through” floral inspiration card made showcasing the latest, December-2021 “Sketched Florals & Frame” Small Die of the Month Club Kit by Spellbinders. Along with it, I’ve also used December-2021 “Botanical Crest” Glimmer Hot Foil Kit Of The Month Club Kit for the card sentiment along with a piece of Glimmer Hot Foil Roll: Aura. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step-by-step on how I made it ↓

Therefore, this month’s Small Die of the Month Club Kit includes 12 cutting dies which one die creates the die-cutting frame and the rest create the die-cutting flowers solid and outlined layers, bud, spring leaves solid and outlined layers, and spring berries.

Thus, I went ahead to line up each die to cut out each flower solid layer from white cardstock, I repeated this step a few times, because I wanted to create two floral cluster with them. Next, I went ahead to cut out the spring leaves out of white cardstock using the dies as well.

Having that said, as soon as I’ve had finished die-cutting the flowers and leaves out of the white cardstock, I quickly gone ahead to add them a pop of color using a few ink blending brushes and a combination of Pigment Craft Co Inks in the colors; Himalayan, Rose Wood, and Turmeric for the flowers + Monstera and Lagoon for the spring leaves. Next, I let them off to the side to let the inking dry. Meanwhile, I used the outlined dies to cut the outlined images for the flowers and berries out of gold cardstock.

Once, I had finished die-cutting the outlined images and the ink was completely dry over the flowers and leaves, I went ahead to layer them over by gluing the layers with Bearly Art Precision Craft Glue. And, right after that I had that step done, I went ahead to set the flowers and leaves off to the side while I kept the die-cutting going for the frame.

As for the frame, I went ahead to cut it out three times from white cardstock and once from gold cardstock. Having that being said, after I had finished cutting them out, I’ve gone ahead to layer two of the white frames over the gold frame to create dimension and a slightly gold shadow. So, after doing that, I went ahead to create the see-through card base. Thus, for the card base, I used acetate along with a smaller white card base, smaller card base which I got adhered down upside down over the bottom flap inside the acetate card base, so in other words not only I created a see-through card base but a tri-fold card base as well.

Right after that I had created the card base, I placed down over my crafting table to start the assembling over the front flap, so to do that, I went ahead to glue down the layered frame over it. Then, I created two floral cluster with the die-cutting and layered flowers and leaves on the upper right and lower left corners of the frame. Therefore, after gluing down the floral clusters and the frame over the see-though card flap, I went ahead to cover up the adhesive from the back side by gluing down the last die-cutting frame to the back of the front flap along with some solid floral images.

Last but not least, I added the card sentiment over the lower right side of the card. A card sentiment which I created using one of the hot foil plates and coordinating die including in this month’s Glimmer Hot Foil Kit Of The Month Club Kit along with a piece Glimmer Hot Foil Roll: Aura. Other than that, I left it without adding any extra embellishments.

And, with that being said friends, I hope you’ve enjoyed reading the step-by-step for how I’ve made this “See-through” floral inspiration card showcasing the latest, December-2021 “Sketched Florals & Frame” Small Die of the Month Club Kit by Spellbinders.
