Happy Tuesday, Friends! On today’s blog, I’d like to share with you a festive and colorful set of inspiration cards with a “Birthday” look showcasing the newest: Birthday Celebrations Collection by Spellbinders. A collection which includes: Stitched Fanfare Etched Dies, Stylized Happy Birthday Etched Dies, Mini Bow Etched Dies, Color Block Balloons Etched Dies, So Many Candles Glimmer Hot Foil Plate, and Birthday Unboxing Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set and more. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step-by-step on how I made them ↓
Therefore, this collection includes a whole variation of wonderful dies thus, for the first example I used Stitched Fanfare Etched Dies. So, I went ahead to line up the die over a large piece of white cardstock and then, I proceeded to run them through my Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine. Once, I had finished cutting out the panel from the it and I had added the stitched details, I went ahead to repeat the same step to cut out a second panel from another piece of white cardstock. Having that said, as soon as, I had finished cutting out both panels, I proceeded to glue down one on top of the other for a sturdier look and then, I moved on to add the hand-stitching touch using an embroidery needle along with a rainbow selection of embroidery floss in pastel hues.
Moving on,as soon as, I had finished adding the hand-stitching touch to the panel, I went ahead to put it aside so, I could go ahead to cut out a solid card panel from gold cardstock using the outer die included in the same set. Lastly, I went ahead to get the backing of the hand-stitched panel glue down over the gold panel using Bearly Art Precision Craft Glue to add a metallic gold look to its background and then, right after that, I got the backing of the front card panel adhered with double-sided adhesive to an A2 size top folding white card base. Finally, to finish the card off, I went ahead to glue down the dimensional and die-cutting card sentiment to the card just as, shown in the image above. As for the card sentiment, I used Stylized Happy Birthday Etched Dies along with gold and white cardstock to create the dimensional look.
For the second example, I used the same cover plate die that I used in the previous example to create the card background for this example as well. However, instead of adding the hand-stitching and pops of colors, I decided to go for a textured white-on-white look. Therefore, I went ahead to cut it out from white cardstock and then, I got the backing of it gluing down over an A2 size top folding white card base. Next, right after that I had gotten it gluing down to the card base, I went ahead to put it aside to continuing with the die-cutting process for the balloons.
Thus, for the balloons, I used gold cardstock and a combination of Teal, Yellow and Gold cardstock along with the Color Block Balloons Etched Dies. Also, I used Mini Bow Etched Dies to cut out the sweet little bow and Birthday Unboxing Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set for the card sentiment. Having that being said, I went ahead to get the assembling for the balloons completed and then, I proceeded to get them mounted over the left side of the card using a combination of liquid glue and square foam adhesives to add some dimension to them. As for the card sentiment, I used one of the glimmer plates from the set along with a piece of Glimmer Hot Foil Roll - Polished Brass and the Glimmer Hot Foil System Platform for the hot foil stamping process.
For the last example, I went for a full hot foil stamping look so, I went ahead to line up the So Many Candles Glimmer Hot Foil Plate over the glimmer platform and then, I added a piece of foil over it. Followed by that, I proceeded to get the hot foil stamping done over a large piece of white cardstock.
Next, right after that I had finished adding the hot foil stamping to it, I moved on to add a pop of color to the candles using a combination of warm hues to achieve a similar look from the first example. As, for the color media, I used alcohol markers.
So, after adding the pops of color to the candles, I went ahead to get the panel trim down the edges from it a little bit smaller than the card base using my Paper Trimmer and then, I got the backing of adhered using double-sided adhesive to an A2 size side folding white card base in a landscaping design. Last but not least, to finish the card off, I went ahead to add the card sentiment to the lower right side of the card. As for the sentiment, I used another glimmer plate included in the same set that I used for the previous example.
Finally, to finish the card set off, I went ahead to use my Jewels Picker along with liquid glue to glue down here and there to each card some of the Crystal Confetti to add each card an extra touch of sparkle!
