Sending Hugs Cards
Hello Friends!
I hope you are having a wonderful day today. On today’s blog I’m featuring the October card kit by Simon Says Stamp. I was thrilled when I saw that this kit included three alcohol inks, in a very nice color combination perfect to create background for fall. That being said, Let’s Get Started!
To begin with I started by inked it up the sheets of Yupo paper with the three Alcohol Inks included in the kit. I really loved the color combination in October’s card kit. For the first background I used Stream and Sunshine Yellow. For the second I used Sunshine Yellow and Sunset Orange and for the third background I used all three combined Stream, Sunshine Yellow and Sunset Orange.
For the Foiling I used the foil pack include in this kit. It seems that this Autumn variety pack by Gina K designs was an exclusive pack for this kit as I couldn’t find any link for it. But, here are the colors by names; Gold Sequins , Dazzling Orange, Red Velvet, Wild Dandelion, JellyBean Green and Sweet Mango. To create the foil I started by inking the first background. Then I continued with the second, as soon as was done with the second I came back to do the foil technique to the first one. The inks don’t have to be completely dry as the foil needs a little bit of stickiness to stick on top of it as you can see in the pictures above. Once the backgrounds were set and ready to use I proceeded with the Ink Lifting technique.
Layout
For the first example, I started by cutting a standard A2 white card panel this step was just to add a little bit of dimension. Then I cut the inked card panel down to H 3.75 X W 5.0 For the ink lifting I used the Stamping Tool along with the largest floral images from the Sketched Flowers stamp set and the Alcohol Lift-Ink Pad (a stamping tool is a must have tool for every card maker and specially for this type of techniques.) and there are many that are good out there.
As you can see I did the lifting twice on one of the top corner of the top folding card. In the meantime I had it ready another white card panel to transfer the ink. Nothing better than creating two cards at the same time. Right?
For the layering, I started by adhering the backed of the white card panel to a White Card Base. Then, I adhered the backed of the inky/ foiled background to the white panel. Last but not least I stamped one of the sentiments from the stamp set and I adhered the backed with foam mounting tape to the card.
For my second example, I decided to created a very clean and simple card by adding a little bit of color and texture. As this was the transferred ink from the alcohol inked background. I only added colors that matched with the alcohol inks with color pencils in orange and yellow tones for the flowers, greens for the leaves and just to added contrast I colored with blues the little buds.
Once, I was done with the coloring. I decided to Gold heat embossed the whole floral image. Then I stamped with Onyx Black Ink the same sentiment. As I had it ready to stamp in the stamping tool.
For the card layering, I added texture by cutting a piece of Burlap from my stash. Then I adhered the backed with extra strong liquid glue to a white card base. Next I adhered the card panel to the burlap panel. Last but not least. I added a few Jewels for sparkle.
Extra Supplies
Here I am sharing the color pencils that I had used to color the second card along with the rest of the supplies. I most likely always forget to mention how much I love and use the Nuvo Aqua Shimmer pen in my cards.
This all I have for today. Happy Crafting!
Thank You, your time is valuable. Don't forget to spread kindness, Today and Always.
