Happy Thursday, Friends! In today’s blog, I’m sharing with you a quick sweet pink Valentine’s Day inspirational card set made with a “Dimensional & Shaker” look using the following dies and stamp sets; Heart Pouch Die, Loving Thoughts Stamp Set, Loving Thoughts Dies, XOXO Stamp, Canvas Texture Stamp, and Heart To Heart Cover Die by the way all are by The Stamp Market. So, without further ado, let’s jump right into the step-by-step for how I made them ↓
Therefore, I went ahead to use an A2 size white card panel, and then I line up over it the XO die included in Heart Pouch Die however when lining it up, I tried to line it up in the upper center part of the card panel, and once I had it lined up, I proceeded to run them through the Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine. Next, after getting the die-cutting part completed, I went ahead to line up the die once again over the card panel but this time in the same direction as the previous placement but underneath it. Thus, once I had that completed, I went ahead to repeat the same step to die-cut the XO XO phrase 4 more times from white cardstock and once out of Diamond Glitter Cardstock.
Moving on, after getting the die-cutting process completed for the XO XO phrase, I went ahead to use the Heart To Heart Cover Die to die-cut the card background from white cardstock, and once I had it die-cut from it, I proceeded to get the backing of it glued down to an A2 size card panel that I got trimmed down from a sheet of Blush Cardstock, as you can see by doing that I made the pink hue from the card panel to stand out through the die-cutting white card panel. Having that said, after getting both card panels layered one over the other, I went ahead to create the layering for the die-cutting XO XO phrase leaving the glittering shadow over the left side. Thereafter, I went ahead to get the XO XO phrase glued down over the layered card panel as shown in the image above, and then to finish the card off, I got the backing of the card panel adhered to an A2 size top folding white card base.
For the second example, I went ahead to use the negative leftover card panel that I from the previous die-cutting from the XO XO phrase. Because there’s nothing better than stretching out your scrap pieces, am I right?
Thus, to make the negative card panel dimensional, I went ahead to set it off to the side. Meanwhile, I went ahead to trim down a piece of white cardstock using the CRICUT Trimmer to H 11.0 x W 2-1/2 inches. Next, I placed the paper piece with the longer side vertically over the Scor-Pal Eighths, and then I used the standard Teflon bone folder from the Craft Treat Teflon Bone Folder set to get some scoring lines at 1/2, 3/4, 1.0, 1-1/2, 1-3/4, 2.0 inches point marks. Having that said, after getting the scoring lines traced over the cardstock piece, I went ahead to get them to fold over in a mountain, valley, and mountain on both sides, and then I got the ends glued down creating that way an extra-large paper spring.
So, after creating the large paper spring, I went ahead to use a pair of scissors to cut out smaller pieces from the paper spring, and then I got the smaller pieces glued down to the back side of the card panel with the XO XO phrase. Once, I had added the dimensional paper springs to the card panel, I went ahead to add the same dimension to the hearts that go in the center of the Os as well.
Lastly, for the card assembling, I went ahead to create the card background, so to do that, I used an A2 size white card panel, the MISTI Mini Stamp Tool with Canvas Texture Stamp, and Blush Ink to get the card background stamped. Thus, after getting the stamping done for the card panel, I used the paper trimmer to trim off 1/8 of an inch from each side, and once I got that done, I got the backing of it glued down to an A2 size top folding white card base. Next, I got the backing of paper springs glued down over the card, and then to finish the card off, I also got the sub-sentiment glued down in the center of the XO XO phrase. As for the sub-sentiment, I used one of the sentiments and coordinating die from the Loving Thoughts Stamp Set and Loving Thoughts Dies sets. And, last but not least for the stamping and heat embossing, I used Magic Powder Bag, Brutus Monroe Embossing Ink, Metallic Platinum Embossing Powder, and Wow Dual Speed Heat Tool.
For the last example, I made a heat embossing inked resist with a touch of a shaker look card. Thus, I went ahead to get the steps for the stamping and heat embossing done over an A2 size white card panel using once again; Magic Powder Bag, Brutus Monroe Embossing Ink, and Wow Dual Speed Heat Tool but this time I used Embossing Powder Ultra Fine Alabaster and the XOXO Stamp. Next, after getting the stamping and heat embossing completed, I went ahead to use an ink blending brush along with the Blush Ink for the heat embossing inked resist step.
Consequently, after getting the inking completed over the heat-embossing card background, I went ahead to use a Buff Microfiber Cleaning Cloth to clean up the excess ink from the embossed image, and then I set it off to the side. Meanwhile, I used the larger die from the Stitched Shaker Windows Dies to cut out a white frame from white cardstock. By the way, I repeated this step 5 times to make the frame dimensional. Thus, after getting the die-cutting process completed for the shaker frame, I went ahead to layer them over and I got a piece of acetate glued down to the back of one of them to create the top layer for the shaker frame.
Moving on, to get the shaker frame assembled, I went ahead to trim down the inked card panel to the same size as the shaker frame, and then I added the shaker bits over it. As for the shaker bits, I used the leftover white hearts from the first die-cutting step for the XO XO phrase plus, I few little hearts that I got die-cut from glitter cardstock using the small hearts dies included in Heart Pouch Die and the small dies from the card background from the first example as well. Nevertheless, I after adding the shaker bits, I went ahead to seal the shaker frame, and then I got the backing of it glued down to an A2 size top folding white card base. And finally, to finish the card off, I went ahead to add the card sentiment over the lower right corner of the card. By the way, for the card sentiment, I used a sentiment and its coordinating die included in the same stamp and die set that I used in the first card, and for its stamping and heat embossing I used the same step as I did in the second example but this time instead of only added a simple dimension, I decided to add a pink and glittery layer to it.
