Leafy Branch Die┃Mini Slimline Inspiration Card

Happy Wednesday, Friends! On today’s blog, I’d like to share with my first “Mini Slimline” inspiration card made using; Leafy Branch Die, Garden Wreath Die Set and Lots of Love Die Set from the latest release by Pinkfresh Studio. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step-by-step for how I made it ↓

It seems like mini slimline cards are trendy at the moment, although I’m not sure with exactitude what’s the perfect size for them, I’ve been seem that the most common sizes are between H 7.0’’ x W 3-1/2’’ and H 6.0’’ x W 3.0’’ inches therefore, I decided to go with the smaller size out the 2 mentioned previously to pair with this dainty die-cutting leafy branch.

Thus, to create the leafy die-cutting branch, I went ahead to line up the die from Leafy Branch Die over a water-colored card panel, which I’ve had previously created using a quick wash of green hue over a watercolor card panel. Therefore, as soon as I had the die line up over the water-colored card panel, I went ahead to create the leafy die-cutting branch by run them thru my Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine.

Then, as soon as I had the die-cutting process for the leafy branch done, I’ve gone ahead to set it off aside so, I could continue the die-cutting process for the die-cutting sentiment using the shadow and top layer dies from Lots of Love Die Set. So, for the shadow layer, I went ahead to die-cut it out of translucent vellum and as for the top layer, I went ahead to die-cut it out of white cardstock 4 times and once out of gold cardstock.

So, as soon as the die-cutting step was completed, I went ahead to stack each top layer up and then, I went ahead to glue it down with liquid glue over its shadow layer. Then, I went ahead to set it off aside so I could get the assembling for the card started. Moving on, for the assembling, I went ahead to trim down an 8.0 x 11.00 inches sheet to 6.0’’ x 6.0’’ inches. Next, I traced a scoring line at the 3.0’’ inches mark and then, I folded it in half creating that way my mini slimline card.

Next, I went ahead to glue down with liquid glue the leafy die-cutting branch over the card base (as shown in the image above.) Then, I went ahead to glue down with liquid glue the dimensional die-cutting sentiment on the lower right side of the card, and to add a bit of embellishment, I also went ahead to glue down with liquid glue here and there over the leafy branch some tiny die-cutting flowers, which I’ve had previously die-cut out of different water-colored cardstock pieces using one of the dies from Garden Wreath Die Set.

Last but not least, I went ahead to mount on the upper left side of the card a sub-sentiment which, I’ve had previously stamp and heat embossing on a strip of white cardstock using one of the sentiments from Leafy Decor Stamp Set. Thus, to finish the card off, I decided to trace a frame around the perimeter of the card using a gel pen in gold and a ruler, and as a finishing touch, I also went ahead to glue down here and there with liquid glue some white jewels from Essentials: Jewel Mix to add a pop of shine to the card! With that being said friends, I hope that you’ve enjoyed reading the step-by-step for how I’ve made this organic “Mini Slimline” inspiration card.
