Happy Saturday, crafty friends! On today’s blog, I’ll be sharing these “Tropical Floral/Summer” cards made using Paradise Blooms Stamp and Paradise Blooms Die sets by Honey Bee Stamps. So, with that said let’s jump right into the step by step on how I made them ↓
To begin with, I started by placing inside my stamping tool a large piece of Strathmore Smooth Bristol Paper. Next, I placed over the paper each stamp image from the Paradise Blooms Stamp Set, and then I’ve got each of them stamp images stamped with Detail Black Ink.
So therefore, after I’ve gotten them stamped I let the ink dry to avoid smudges, but in the meanwhile I went ahead to prepare my water-coloring mixing palette so, I mixed: Red, Pink, Yellow and Green hues to create my color palette, and thus by the time that I was done mixing it the ink was dry so, I went ahead to water-coloring each of the flowers and leaves with the mixing. With that said, after my water-colored flowers and leaves were completely dry, I lined up over each of them their coordinated dies (Paradise Blooms Die Set) and I went ahead to run them through the die-cutting machine. So, after I had the die-cutting flowers and leaves done, I started the assembling for the card.
For the assembling first, I added a wash of Turquoise water-coloring to a watercolor card panel. Second, after the card panel was completely dry, I trimmed the edges off a bit smaller than the card base and I adhered the backing of it with double-sided tape to a top folding white card base. Then, I created a tropical floral cluster with them by gluing down with liquid glue some of the flowers and leaves, and by adhering down some of them with square foam adhesives to add dimension. Lastly, after I had the Tropical floral cluster completed, I went ahead to finish the card off by adhering a sentiment which I had previously stamped and die-cut using one of the sentiment from the stamp set and coordinated die.
To keep it simple, I created a second card by creating a second tropical floral cluster however, to change thing a bit I adhered it to the lower left corner.
Then, if you see closely in the image above, you also will notice that the leaves are water-colored with a darker green hue. Other than that, I kept the same wash of Turquoise hue for the watercolor card panel.
So, to finish the card off I tucked in pieces of metallic thread to add a touch of gold, then I mounted the sentiment and last but not least, I glued down with liquid glue clear iridescent sequins to each card adding that way a beautiful touch of sparkle. With that being said friends, I hope that you’ve enjoyed reading about how, I’ve created these “Tropical Floral/Summer” inspiration cards.
